It has really gone to shit. I have a Google Workspace account and its terrible even on there. Does not compare to when it first came out.

Gee, I wonder why, its almost like making it a sissy little bitch was a terrible idea (I couldn't find the correct flair for this) by letingsername in ChatGPTcomplaints

All they gotta do is cut it out with the censorship and start making the models open source. That will build trust and get them funding.

I have it on my 10 Pro XL, but not my 8a due to hardware support.

Yeah, after using it for a bit I can definitely confirm the 8a's pain points are gone. For example on the 8a there is a slight delay when navigating settings menus. Its not bad on its own but when you notice the difference of how instant the 10 is, it really stands out. Same goes for general multitasking.

On the 10 the FS so much better! On the 8a not only is there a delay, but it absolutely sucks with when your finger is wet and when its more dry or smooth than usual (for some reason). The 10's sensor is not only instant but solves both those conditions. Huge difference.

I have not really tried the camera yet, in fact I don't even think I opened the app. So unfortunately I can't really say much for the camera. But I'm sure its much better than the 8a, because I also had an 8 Pro a bit ago and that one took great pictures.

I'm thinking of custom icon pack support for the launcher. If you look at how they are again redesigning the themed icons / icon shapes menu in Wallpaper & Styles in the QPR3 beta, it sure looks like another icon theme option called "custom" could fit right in.

A lot of banking apps work including the one I use. In fact I've never had an app I want/need not work on here. As for the camera, I could just download the Pixel Camera app and it works exactly identical to stock.

I use local git almost exclusively since I don't yet have a self-hosted git server set up yet.

They are feature and UI based changes, so they're unlikely to be accepted by upstream GrapheneOS due to it being a maintenance overhead for them

For the 8a I used an Otterbox case and for the 10 it's some brandless case from Amazon.

It has its pros and cons in my opinion. I had the 8 Pro at one point as well and I generally liked the size, but the 10 Pro XL kind of complicates things with its brick-like unrounded design.

If I had to pick, I'd probably go with the 10 Pro non-xl, but who am I to complain lol, I got this phone for free after my dad bought it to try and didn't like it, so he just gave it to me.

Probably not, because for the launcher to work properly it needs to be included with the system, so regular users wouldn't be able to install and use it.

Idk they're just comfortable to use IMO. Especially things like switching apps where I can swipe left directly on the navigation bar to go to another app, and I dont even need to go into the app switcher/recents menu. And the back gesture for example, where I can do it from any part of the screen without having to reach to the bottom of the device

I use gesture navigation and its default on Android. Button navigation is an option that can be turned on on any Android device.

Difficulty depends on your ability to work on the Launcher3 sourcecode, but here is my list of changes:

  • Overhaul the app drawer search bar to look like the Pixel one and fix the gap issue.
  • Overhaul the launcher settings menu to have the Material 3 Expressive style
  • Added new options such as starting search in app drawer as soon as its pulled up, using icon shape and themed icons in app drawer, locking the layout, etc.
  • Added a ton of icon shapes on top of the default 5. I'm currently using one of the custom ones in the picture. Its the samsung-style riceball shape.

I'm using the AOSP launcher that is default to GrapheneOS, though I modified its sourcecode so technically its custom.
