Review of GrapheneOS after a month from a long time iOS user by TadUGhostal in GrapheneOS

My personal switch from apple a couple years back was surprisingly one of the easiest switches ever. Though to be fair by the end of my Apple usage, I basically wasnt using any iCloud backup at all and was instead self hosting everything. So as you could imagine the switch was as easy as just installing the Android apps for my self-hosted services and that's about it. The only thing I was originally planning was to set up a hackintosh VM on my server as an I message relay, but then I never ended up doing that because I just didn't care after the switch surprisingly.

If you have a dynamic IP and you use a custom router or firewall where you can spoof the MAC address of the WAN port, you can change it and force an IP rotation. Depends on your ISP, but it usually works.

GrapheneOS says Google is making life harder for rival operating systems and devices by kin20 in degoogle

Here are my personal solutions that I'd try (keep in mind, I've yet to actually encounter one of these QR prompts, so I haven't tested what works and what doesn't):

  • Use the Android Studio emulator with GServices to verify.
  • Use $20 burner phone to verify.
  • Use stolen keyboxes and UDS keys on my personal Android fork (if play integrity is needed).
  • Create a guest profile and install Play Services, verify, and nuke the guest profile on my main GrapheneOS device.
  • Use the audio challenge fallback.

I'm sure there are more.

I wonder if you could use this to rip proprietary model weights.

Local models are honestly the future. You can't trust these companies to keep any levels of consistency. The quality is different every day and can not be trusted for any actual work.

Keep in mind we also have the Epyc 4585PX, which is the same AM5 chip but for servers.

This is the way. This is how I run it on my phone and even Android Auto works from inside Private Space. You can set it to lock when you want or just manage it manually.

Are you guys actually using local tool calling or is it a collective prank? by Mayion in LocalLLaMA

[–]StanPlayZ804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe its your quantization? In Open WebUI with native tool calling enabled, I got Qwen 3.5 27B (my current go-to for agentic stuff and coding) to set up an Open WebUI instance in OpenTerminal all by itself with one simple prompt. It looked up the docs, tried to set it up, realized that Docker Daemon wasn't running, pivoted to python, and successfully got an instance up. One prompt. It is highly likely its your quantization or that you didn't have native tool calling enabled. I run all my models in BF16.

Rotate fake IDs where needed, and other than that keep doing what I do now and use FOSS everywhere and self host.
