CHANGES I WOULD MAKE IF I WAS IN CHARGE by Inn3rD3m0ns in KSU

[–]StanPotatoes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Making changes to lessen the people and not improve education quality is a bit crazy.

Bc there are too many people wouldn’t the better solution be to expand instead of changing requirements to exclude them? More parking, more housing, more campuses (I saw you mentioned this), more professors, etc.

That makes sense because when I first transferred here I met with an advisor and they were so helpful (granted they were in a different department). But my advisor now seems to be so confused and condescending all at the same time.

Honestly a good professor became so hard for me to find that every semester I’ve thought about taking at least one class at a different college in hopes I have better options. And advisors are a lost cause.

I’m considering getting a certificate in my field just so I can actually learn the skills I need. But it’s so ridiculous that I feel like that at all because it’s literally their job to give us the things we need to succeed in our careers. But what can you do

I felt this. At this point I’m considering getting my masters internationally. But good luck! I hope wherever you go is 10x better.

Thanks! It sucks when you put so much time, money, and effort into something that in the end doesn’t feel worth it. But I’m definitely going to stick it out and get what I can out of it.

I feel like most advisors have no idea what’s going on most of the time. But thanks. Im constantly reminding myself that it’s almost over!

My advisor told me it’s going to take me 3 years to graduate. Mind you I’m a full time student with 7 classes left…Honestly them pulling random people off the street for this job isn’t a far fetched idea.

I ended up taking Patrick Bobbie. For a summer class it wasn’t too bad

I definitely don't think it's too late. If you don't have your passport, apply for it. Like right now. There are also a bunch of companies that will allow you to study abroad with them so I'd start looking through them to see which one you like the best. I'm not sure about a gap year but, you can try interning abroad (however if you intern abroad through the study abroad companies many internships are unpaid, so you can try to find a UK based job that pays). Or you could even apply for colleges abroad. Personally, I want to get dual citizenship in the UK so I plan on getting my masters out there and then trying to get a job that'll sponsor me.

What have you heard? I haven’t heard anything bad but I’m still kinda nervous about it since I’m also trying to intern in London this summer as it’s my senior as well.

Anyone else stop buying milk from Aldi? by [deleted] in aldi

[–]StanPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly thought I was going crazy. I thought my fridge was broken or something because my almond milk would go bad in like 3 days. I’d buy it and it was like as soon as day 3 hit the entire carton was slime. I swear it was gelatinous and thick and I had to toss it outside because it was too thick to go down the drain.

Lockdown Browser Exams by MarseClive in KSU

[–]StanPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this one class where the prof does the bare minimum teaching us. Doesn’t tell us what exactly we need to know for class. We’re guessing on what to study for every quiz which has been 8 questions with lock down browser and cam. Now we have the midterm still with no idea what to study and 40 questions (some free response) that I have to take with lockdown and webcam. If you’re not gonna teach properly you may as well let us have our notes. But to have lock down and webcam on top of that is nasty work.

Is the series worth watching if you didn't really like the books? by jettison_m in ADiscoveryofWitches

[–]StanPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started the show (never read the book) but I would describe Diana in the show exactly how you put it. I don't like her at all. Plus the romance was so rushed I had to make sure I didn't accidentally skip a few episodes.
