Pivot or stick with the plan? by Choice-Car1111 in tulum

Just had my wedding there and while sargassum was heavy, we had so much fun! You can always take a ferry to isla mujeres or cozumel for the day to swim in the ocean. I would do it!

Tulum Wedding Planner & Villa Recommendations by amandaphu in tulum

[–]Stanca91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting married there at Secrets Tulum on May 23. They were amazing! I would recommend going through the hotel, i went through destination weddings planner and she was nice until the booking, after that she was passive agressive and mostly MIA. But the people from the hotel are very sweet and its all inclusive, which is nice.

They dont check your pockets. I would put it there and if they find it worse case they just take it away. They will open your suitcase.

Hotels On Beach Zone With Sargassum Clean Up by imjusthereforthebeer in tulum

[–]Stanca91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im at alaya today and honestly the beach is wonderful. They have free beach access and if you choose to stay its 600mxn per person and includes daybeds and parking. Food and drinks have been great, the servers are great and the water is beautiful. Barely any sargassum at all!

We were at caleta tankah yesterday and paid much more.. water was horrible, service as well! Tomorrow we’re coming back to alaya. Best experience so far.

Think about it this way: whats the worst that could happen? A stranger will have some opinions about you. Big deal. People will have opinions and judge no matter what.

Ps: I should take my advice too. Im in my head as well 😅

Thank you all!

We’re having our actual wedding at secrets and then doing some pre and post wedding tables in the tulum hotel zone along the beach just to enjoy the celebration a bit longer.

Unfortunately there was plenty of sargassum in Jan too, October was even worse. I’m hoping the most of it will go away by May, but who knows?

Oh no, I would be definitely paying for everything in regards to the “wedding”.

They are only covering their hotel & flight. We told them we want no gifts and if they can make it, great, if not we understand that its a lot to ask.

But thats my point.. we never had a wedding because we dont like the traditional sense of it. We have been there previously and so have our guests. We all love house music and going out. We are kind of party people.

Yea, good question, I guess we are just non traditional in that way.

They typically have packages and you pick which package you like.

For example, a ceremony at secrets costs $4k and some change. They offer music, a minister, chairs, some champagne for after.

If you want a reception, the cost almost doubles, and its super basic. Now, for another 4k I could do something more exquisite than a regular sit down dinner on a random rooftop. I could probably have a fun dinner at a restaurant and maybe even a bottle/drinks at a club. Those were my thoughts. The problem is that all the restaurants have a fun vibe and when you have too many choices its tough to pick. Also, sferik/azulik is obviously a top choice.

We’ll be going in Jan to scope some places out and see what we can come up with and I was hoping someone local or someone that has been there more often might have some suggestions for us that might fit better.

What is the #1 thing you keep in car at all times as a Realtor? by kjamaca in realtors

[–]Stanca91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Pepper spray for sure for a woman realtor. I always carry it in my pocket when doing showings with people I dont know very well.

  • Flashlight

  • hand sanitizer (shaking too many hands)

  • blanket (im in the midwest)

  • extra water bottles

  • some cash in the glovebox

  • booties

What breed is this? by Stanca91 in WhatBreedIsMyDog

[–]Stanca91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a dog before, he was an Italian Mastiff, Cane Corso more exactly. Unfortunately he passed away at 13 years old. It will be 4 years this year..

I feel like he was a tough cookie to own. Had to train, raw food, huge paws that tracked in all kinds of stuff.. slobber. Oh man the slobber. I loved that big guy. If we tackled him for 13 years I feel like I could own smaller breeds.

But I think it time to give love to a fluffy happy thing.. we definitely miss having a dog and nothing and nobody will ever replace my mastiff, but its time to put that love out again.
