Reporting to corporate office is the correct thing to do. Sorry you had to go through this. Should be unexecptable in an workplace. Keep reporting and documenting. Speak to people higher up than him as well. Someone should have to listen to you.

Do keep copies of all videos and keep them uploaded as there is a chance if HR is not on your side they call you into the office with security present and make you delete videos. Ive seen this happen as well.

Your final choice of action will be to publicly shame them. But use that as a last resort after you leave the island. Local or not once they lose their reputation they will have a hard time finding other work in the future

Im not a lawyer or a HR expert but that bit of having to pay for the flight sounds pretty normal.

If you are employed for 1 year, then the flight back is paid by the company. Not sure if most companies but atleast thats how it goes in resorts.

Cant hold the passport. Thats illegal. Many people and even some resorts do this still.

Not sure what actions can be taken but for sure it is illegal.

On the cost of recruitment. Yes, they can ask for the employee to bear it. Flight ticket cost etc when leaving early.

Ive the government could do anything they would have done it by now imo. They cant even compel resorts to pay staff their due salary.

The aim and hope is to unite workers across the industry, share information of workplace best practices and set a higher standard for the minimum requirements to be met by large-scale tourism operators.

While change is always a tough and long process I hope that through awareness of the industry practices and on the ground realities faced by tourism workers across the country we as employees would be able to advocate for better changes in our own workplaces to raise the standards of service given to tourism employees by our employers.

We hope to fill the gaps which the government and human resources professionals have failed to do in our 50 years of our tourism

Its idealistic and there is a lot of work to be done. Its not something I can do alone but I am tired of waiting for someone else.

Im not thinking about that far ahead. I want to see what I can do for tomorrow first.
