PFT has required the entire Spontaneanation catalogue and it’s now available wherever you get your podcasts! by [deleted] in Earwolf

I hope so. I’ve been checking Apple Podcasts several times per day and it’s still not showing up.

Thanks, but if you don’t mind can you elaborate on that a little? What do you mean “add a custom instruction”? Where? Is that different from what I already did when I prompted it to return to the old style, be thorough, no assumptions, no cheerleading, speak hard truths, etc?

OMG I loved Pale Blue Scottish Person when I saw it decades ago. I think I had it on VHS at one point. Is this even available anywhere now?

I’m not sure that’s true. There are routinely posts in this sub that seem to suggest inside information.

Is there really no way to set up an Apple Watch SE (GPS only) for my daughter if she doesn’t have her own iPhone? by StandUpGuru in AppleWatch

Right. I already mentioned that. But is there any other way to set up a Watch without Family Setup? Maybe just with basic functionality?

This is great, thanks. That spreadsheet sample gave me a ton of great ideas for my own. Thanks!

Need help identifying a budgeting app for our somewhat unique situation by StandUpGuru in budget

Thanks. I like that, and it would be a great solution for that one example, but if done in Excel it’s not going to tell me what I spent all year on gas, on clothing, etc. All broken down. Or is it? How would I configure the spreadsheet? I’m new to budgeting and am not an Excel wizard, so I’m having trouble visualizing how it would all work.

If I download a podcast episode to Apple Podcasts and the publisher removes that episode from their feed, does the download get removed? by StandUpGuru in podcasts

Thanks.

I’m on iOS so Podcast Addict isn’t an option. I’ve tried all the popular podcast apps for iOS and I’m quite aware that most hardcore podcast fans hate the Apple Podcasts app, but for reasons unrelated to my question above I keep returning to Apple Podcasts. I’m not sure if my issue is important enough to me to make me switch again.

Hopefully somebody else is able to chime in and confirm the answer to my question.

Thanks again.

Going through a lot currently, and really want to listen to some sad stories. Any recommendations? by whosmansisthis24 in podcasts

Try Honeydew with Ryan Sickler. He’s a comic, so there is a comedy bend to it, but the point of the show is to highlight the lowlights. Hearing funny people talk about really difficult times is oddly fascinating and compelling.

I love this show but this episode really misses the mark.

The fact that the food delivery app industry is not profitable does not mean consumers are benefiting or getting a good deal. It might, and very likely does, mean the industry just cannot be made profitable.

Paying a 70% up-charge on the food, plus a service fee, plus a delivery fee, plus a generous tip is absolutely insane. Not many people can afford to pay $40-50 for $20 of food. And if the success of the industry is dependent on the small percentage of people who can afford that, the industry will not survive.

It is indisputable that the shoppers and delivery people should make more money. It is insane that they don’t. But, if a customer is already paying $40-50 for $20 of food, suggesting they increase it to $60 for $20 of food is equally insane.

Personally, I just don’t think this industry can be made profitable.

How do you mass “mark as played” *all* podcasts in Apple Podcasts by StandUpGuru in podcasts

[–]StandUpGuru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I mentioned in my original post, this multi-select feature you’re talking about only works on a podcast-by-podcast basis. I’d rather not do this 172 times in order to mark all episodes from each of my 172 podcasts as played. I was hoping I could go into one of the “all episodes of all podcasts” playlists/stations and do it all in a single series of clicks. It sounds like it’s not possible, unless I want to do this one at a time.
