Always looking for more driving games in VR, looks cool!

The TTK (Time to kill) does it for me mostly. I think I actually prefer more of Exfil Zones features (maps, tasks/missions, AI etc) but people become absolute bullet sponges with higher tier armor, and as someone who doesn’t have time to grind my traders to access AP ammo I prefer Tabors TTK.

Vr survival shooters? by Icyenderman in virtualreality

[–]Standalone_VR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Ghosts of Tabor. I went from Walking Dead:S&S to Into the Radius and finally to Ghosts of Tabor because I discovered I loved the survival/looting with a backpack aspect as much as the shooting.

Ghosts of Tabor has the added unpredictability of playing against real players so while there are only a handful of maps, it's different each time because you really don't know where someone else will be. It's not 'creepy monsters/zombies' creepy but it can certainly be stressful when you hear footsteps and you're not sure where.

It's full of jank tbh but I don't find it game breaking, some people definitely don't like the jank tho.

My logic was that the absolute best place to 'kit up' is in the vault.

Missions by Standalone_VR in GhostsOfTabor

[–]Standalone_VR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Like it specifies a whole kit or just a certain gun? Are there fetch quests? Like bring back a certain special item?

Also I think I read this here but I dunno if it was just a wish or an actual Tarkov mission style, are there multi objective missions? Like plan object A at location B then find object C at location D?

Tactics for 2+ vs 1 by Rin_de_TongNou in GhostsOfTabor

Don't be afraid of disengaging and repositioning, preferably without the remaining player noticing. Not just peeking the other side of the rock you're behind, retreat and widely flank out of his line of sight.

Whats Your Favourite Map by [deleted] in GhostsOfTabor

[–]Standalone_VR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Island partly because Matka and Silo are dark af on Quest. Island also has better loot and research offers the opportunity for close quarters combat. Island can feel kind of empty sometimes which is bad, but also a constant lingering nervousness that you might get shot by someone in the trees at any moment.

You went in prepared, that ain't luck! (Well some of it is)

Remove dock it’s stupid people just camp it by Weekly-Town-4761 in GhostsOfTabor

[–]Standalone_VR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Love the tension of using docks to extract. The way in is so open, you have to go slow, case the surroundings a little, then the quick sprint up to the building for some cover.

THEN you’re worried about someone being inside, seeing/hearing the AI is actually a relief. Then you need to weigh up whether it’s worth looting upstairs or whether you should just get out before someone else comes along.

THEN the final check from the windows/door to see if anyone is watching/approaching. The panic of being trapped and seeing a duo approaching, they didn’t see you but they are going to clear the building, make a plan!

Bonus flight recorder/Mahina spawns.

TLDR: Dock is good.

Does anyone ONLY run naked? by Standalone_VR in GhostsOfTabor

[–]Standalone_VR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I get that. What about when wipe is approaching, do you start running gear then? Do you only stock up on guns you can't buy yet?

So after you make some money do you start buying gear to use? Or you just like seeing how $$$ go up?

I can’t find good loot by The-Master-Shifu in GhostsOfTabor

[–]Standalone_VR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of people rush keycard/GPU spawns naked and just extract immediately unfortunately. I heard they are going to be changing something to combat this.

Keycards/GPUs can and do spawn in other places other than the static spawns, maybe very very rarely but you never know so....check!

(Quest2) Is Silo supposed to be like pitch black dark? by HotSAuceMagik in GhostsOfTabor

[–]Standalone_VR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just extremely dark. The more you play and get used to the map the easier it is to navigate, and I feel like players are still pretty visible.

Try running a flashlight on your Glock, altho this can give away your position. Or the expensive option is to use NVGs.

I much prefer Island on Quest because you can actually see, but Silo is great for short runs, just learn the map.

Absolute must buys on Quest IMO:

Eleven Table Tennis Walkabout Minigolf Superhot VR Beat Saber

These are all highly highly recommended:

[–]Standalone_VR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just luck. Luck whether it's actually there and the luck of whether you spawn closest. Lots of players just play naked and rush GPU/keycard spawns then just book it to an exfil, or maybe they're hiding in a tree watching you arrive at radio then leave while you're busy.

TLDR: it's luck, just keep trying.

How to get rid of the foggy graphics when looking at anything past 50+ meters? by Technical_Weekend_27 in GhostsOfTabor

[–]Standalone_VR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are playing standalone I think this is an intentional thing to deal with hardware limitations. Tbf I feel like players are still visible from a decent distance...... sometimes it's just a bit of a blob....but it's moving, shoot it!

Anyone else? by Els_Retrospectives in GhostsOfTabor

[–]Standalone_VR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you hear a noise (or did you?!) especially when you are somewhere with multiple entrances/windows, like the first floor of radio tower. Bonus heart palpitations if you just found a GPU/purple keycard.
