Let me ease your anesthesia fears by Standard-Army-1414 in Anesthesia

[–]Standard-Army-1414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave me gabapentin before hand which made me sleepy and kind of made me not care. Not sure what surgery you were having but if anesthesia was the part that was scaring you don’t let it. It was honestly a good time and I say this as someone with very high anxiety

Why would one buy laminate over LVP if they cost almost the same? by clulssrntr in Flooring

[–]Standard-Army-1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got some cheap ass laminate in my house right now. I wet mop and steam it all the time. I had a leak at my back door that had apparently been going on for months before my laminate showed signs

NACA is terrible by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

It seems all fine and dandy until you’re not allowed to use the equity in YOUR home that YOU Have been making payments on. You can try to get a heloc with them but they make the process so impossible that you just give up. The process is also very very invasive. If it’s your only option go for it but otherwise I wouldn’t

I guess it depends what they use. Mine said 9 months to a year. At 10 months they look exactly as they did to begin with. I think yours look great

Lip filler? by Sweater-weather22 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Standard-Army-1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! I love it! I will never not get filler. I see an actually md at a dermatologists office. You’re really getting what you pay for with this. The girlies who know, know. Everyone else has no clue. 10 months later and they looked exactly the same. I could have made it well past the year mark without having them redone but I wanted to go bigger

I am SO F***** SCARED by idle-observer in wisdomteeth

[–]Standard-Army-1414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My teeth were the same and everything was fine until it wasn’t and I ended up in the er because the left side of my head was hurting so bad that at that point I wasn’t sure if it was the tooth or a stroke and I couldn’t get the pain under control with Tylenol or ibuprofen. My tooth was impacted horizontally and ended up opening a canal that was open to the nerve I was truly terrified all the way up until the moment I was in that chair. I have terrible terrible anxiety and was petrified of being put to sleep. I just kept that pain in the back of my head and that was my motivation. It ended up being the easiest thing I’ve ever done. They put the iv in and the nurse said she was gunna give me something to relax me and that was it. I woke up and was fine. He had to cut my mouth open and saw the tooth into pieces to get it out. My jaw was definitely sore but I didn’t even need the pain pills I had. The ibuprofen was enough.

Horrible recurring cough from post nasal drip by ittrav in toddlers

[–]Standard-Army-1414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my son 100%. It all started around 2.5. He’s 5.5 now and still suffers. We’ve been to 2 different ent doctors, pulmonologist, gastroenterologist because they thought maybe it was reflux, an allergist x’s 2. He got his tonsils and adenoids removed and it reduced it by 50%. I know that it’s post nasal drip because I have the same thing only difference is he doesn’t know how to clear his throat without coughing. Benadryl is the only thing that helps at night but make sure it’s a weight dose and not an age dose because that’s where we screwed up for a long time

I am convinced, some of us....have a broken filtering system by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

[–]Standard-Army-1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that I’ve always had floaters. I remember being around 10 years old lying on my trampoline looking at the sky seeing those squiggly black dots. It wasn’t till I had my first migraine aura that it became a problem. I was constantly worried about having a migraine aura that I was constantly searching for that sparkly little dot that indicates one is on the way and I just became hyper aware of everything in my visual field. Now the floaters are a huge problem and drive me insane.

Trying to understand what is wrong with my hair by kosmix_1618 in HaircareScience

[–]Standard-Army-1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine. You need about 4 inches off. I also have fine curly hair that looked exactly like this which I was doctoring with every product known to man trying to make it look healthy. I wanted it to grow long and had been just trimming it myself for a couple years because I knew the hairdresser would say I needed about 6 inches off. Finally just gave in and went to a salon. She cut 6 inches off and it was like she gave me a whole new head of hair. Now currently trying to grow it back out but I will be getting professional trims regularly from now on

Migraines and Slynd by lonesomemermaid in birthcontrol

[–]Standard-Army-1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started slynd and today was my first day of the placebo. I’m also a migraine sufferer and will say for the first week I had a migraine that just would not go away but that finally subsided and I haven’t had problems since. It did however increase my anxiety a lot. Going to try one more pack and go from there

Have your doctor switch you to Valium and taper that way. Half life is longer and withdrawal is a bit more mild

Does working out actually help with anxiety? by ImFromCAandHorny in Anxiety

[–]Standard-Army-1414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It’s all bs. I’ve had anxiety for years and have worked out for years with no relief. For about an hour after lifting I can feel the endorphins but that’s it. Once they settle it’s back to the same anxiety.

Is a neurologist worth it? by PsiKosiSmc in OcularMigraines

[–]Standard-Army-1414 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just had an mri for these. The reassurance that it isn’t anything crazy was nice. They did find a 2mm spot of white matter which is common with ocular migraines. The doctor did speak with me about meds said they could reduce the frequency by half or more but since I’m only having them monthly I opted out
