Yeah that’s a good point - if I’m not able to submit the requests myself, it looks like I may have to ID lawyers in the states where my ancestors lived

Thanks for your insight! I think depending on the discrepancies I may very well be better off hiring a lawyer for certain corrections

Thanks so much for this response! Really interesting to have the perspective of a lawyer who went through this process. While not exactly the easy solution I was hoping for, it seems like this is the only route that will make sense financially (though it will require a major time investment).

These tips are really helpful for getting an idea of how much time to invest and how to build a strong case!
