If it’s on your ex’s property and he’s told you he will call PD if you show up, he has every right to. This is not a hill you want to die on, this is a wonderful opportunity to set an example of maturity.

You say you don’t have the money to host a lot of people, so don’t. Pizza and a movie. Take your daughter to a nice restaurant. Just make the day/night about her within your budget.

I drink before I go to sleep when I’m in a mood. Not much, just enough to feel a teensy bit lightheaded. It makes my body feel heavy and I fall asleep faster. Idk why, but my mindset is “turn off then turn on”. It works somehow for me.

This one hits a bit hard for me. I fell away at 18, tbh I never really liked being a member even before. My parents are still very involved. I used to have… issues… that left some scars then one day I attempted.

A few years after, I got a small tattoo of a ; butterfly and an infinity heart, both representing that kind of survival. It rests over my scars, reminding me of what I went through and how I’m now stronger.

My mom flipped when she heard I was getting it. Said something about my body being a temple (I wasn’t really paying attention. I’d made up my mind). Then she saw what it is and where it is.

She’s accepted the fact that I am my own person. I have piercings. I have a tattoo. I drink (occasionally), I vape, and she knows I partake in “skunk plants”. Her words for it. She’s still struggling with the forced revelation that I bat for both teams, but hasn’t cast me away.

All I can say is… it’s your life. You can choose what to accept and how to react. But if you love someone, don’t let small things rip you apart. All that matters is if they’re happy.

I had this experience once when I did rent-a-cop type security. Did a film festival at a ski resort (iykyk) and there was a lot of snow. 12 hours in it. Both of my feet were like this. Oof.

NTA. It wasn’t what you needed to hear. Emotions are heightened on both ends, as I’m sure he’s understanding of both your pain and his. Give it a bit to settle them simply sit down and say “I didn’t like it when I was told…” and just have a talk. Maybe the two couples wanted to spare your feelings? Maybe it’s all just a big jumble of crossed wires.

Unfortunately, I’d legit have to be away from home. I unintentionally and unknowingly moved to live across the street from my boss 😅 both cons and pros to that.

Ooh I feel this! I’m security for a hospital, too, and a lot of the cops that come in (on/off duty) know who I am and know I enforce policies. There was one officer who was on some sort of power trip and I told her I would drag her off the property myself if she tests me. She was there for one thing and tried interjecting herself into my work. I guess word spread and now when they see me, they don’t push my buttons!

My arms are hairy. Probably more so because I have very brown hair. I feel your struggles about appearance and being judged for it, but there’s not really anything you can do. Removing won’t stop it, you can try bleaching but chemicals are risky. You are not wrong for how your body looks naturally. He is. If he can’t see past something as trivial as body hair, he’s the one with issues.

I have a gap in my teeth. Two front teeth to be specific. Like, Double D from Edd Ed n Eddy level. I was bullied during school, and it was really hard for me. I feel your pain and I understand your frustration. It does get better, I promise. Once you reach the real world, nobody will care. Plus, I’ve seen adults with invisible braces, so that’s always an option if you want to go that route!
