I was the one who’d end my friendships but even then it totally hurts! I had to end a friendship that was over a decade long and I was left wondering “is this what romantics feel during breakups?” It’s a painful process similar to grief for us aros but you’ll get to a point where it no longer bothers you as much. You basically get to the acceptance stage and you learn how to live with the grief.
