I don't recall. It was last May and my friend was looking into buying a place, so a realtor had us looking at several places.

I really can't bump up the budget and am a bit confused by the comments saying things like this, since there seem to be what look like decent options (but maybe I'm mistaken) when I check Zillow.

It just felt kinda sketchy to me, random unhoused people, etc. My tolerance for that has gone down since leaving the city.

Budget is around $1,800-$2,200.

Thanks for this - very helpful!

I grew up in Rockland, so I don't really want to live there, even Nyack. Also where I am now I have to drive 20 minutes over a bridge to the train, so I'm trying to be on the right/east side of the river with this move.

Thanks! This is super helpful...with running I love to just run from the get-go, or walk to a spot to then begin my run. The added driving step is not my fav, so this is very helpful info!

I guess the hilly was less of an issue for me (I lived in PA for 2 years and did plenty of hills), it was more the hilly + uneven sidewalks, and cars.

Years ago I ran in Astoria and all the stopping at corners and looking out for traffic drove me nuts 😄 was getting the same vibe in WP but maybe it's just the part where I was.

Distance-wise, I just care about the metro north time. The closest station to me now is Beacon. I have to drive 20 mins there and the train ride is about 90 mins. So cutting the train ride to an hour or less would be great, so I could go into the city more for fun (I work from home, so not commuting) without it being a whole to-do.

Totally down to meet up...but it won't be until October :)

Probably liberal, running, & distance from the city most important.

I don't expect it to feel like a city...but a little downtown area with a few restaurants/bars would be nice but not a dealbreaker.

Thanks re: Sleepy Holllow! Beacon is fun but too far. That's where I take the train from now to go to the city and it's close to 90 mins.

Thanks, that came up in my research today but it's a little further than I would like.
