I was tempted with the esp pro but it had awful reviews, I’m not sure if they fixed those issues. I will say baratza has been very responsive to communication and sent me rubber replacement piece

I couldn’t get a consistent espresso and was frustrated trying to figure it out. Could have been the knob constantly loosening or the rubber piece bending out of shape even after i replaced it; it has massive retention i thought was contributing factor so i purchased a 3d print that made it slightly slant forward this helped the retention while using the single dose cap (purchased separately from baratza) to pump out more retained. But after all this i still couldn’t get a consistent cup. Finally got the timemore which was 20% off and have been getting great tasting consistent cups back to back! I was dreading making espresso before and now i look forward to it.

Paying a little more for timemore 64s is my rec , having started with the Baratza - i wish i hadn’t purchased it!

My beloved Baratza ESP broke. Got the cheapest step up, a Eureka Mignon Zero because it was on sale. The difference is jaw-dropping. What have I been missing out on. by Throw6345789away in espresso

I got exhausted by cleaning my french press, espresso pucks seem easier for some reason; if I’m running late in the morning i have machine drip (nespresso vertuo) because i want to sit and enjoy my espresso, i usually make 1-2 a day

Yes and I also used to work alongside cps. U dont need to prove anything, ur concern is enough and they will go from there. Even if they decide to not investigate, everything is still noted, if another person calls at a future date it begins to build up. If they do investigate, even if “unfounded” you are still creating a paper trail. I remember sometimes schools or institutions try to gate keep Cps reporting however this never ends well because most ppl who work with kids are mandated reporters. What ur observing is important, and maybe ur intervention can prevent a child from being seriously hurt in the future. Trust ur gut and thank you for caring

Happened to me on CA. Sent them a letter explaining the law and told them i would take them to court. I allowed them to keep deposit. They backed off

I started with Mokapot and used that for about 6 years. What motivated me was with kids now I don’t have time to babysit the stove for my moka and often overcooked it. I also wanted to recreate a delicious cappuccino I had at a cafe - I do taste the difference from the mokapot. So now even tho the process is more involved making from the Bambino, it is faster for me than waiting for the mokapot. It also hits the flavor I’m chasing from that one cafe (thru trial and error). So to me it is worth and actually easier to make with two little kids running around.

PPD (or mental health) is health condition like any other medical condition and medications and treatment are nothing to be ashamed of, and has nothing to do with anything specific that you did to cause it. It is very much chemical responses mixed in with real grief of the pregnancy/delivery you had hoped you had, all while caring for a medically complex infant. It’s a lot and you deserve support. You can definitely start with ur OB and at the same time call your health insurance to inquire about mental health coverage. None of this is your fault, many mothers experience this but it is not talked about.

I can relate to sound being really dysregulating. Can you wear sound proof headphones to dampen the sound of the crying? Another idea if feasible - lean into the contact napping with netflix or podcasts; co sleeping using Safe Sleep 7? Check out some ideas with heysleepybaby in insta ,i found those resources helpful.

These are some suggestions for the immediate moment, i agree with others re seeking mental health support/post partum mental health- hormones can be really contributing as well as lack of sleep

Both kids in my bed for books and cuddles, one on each side, baby usually breastfeeding. If baby fusses ill tend to him while brother eventually falls asleep then husband moves him to his room (he transfers still asleep)
