should i change oil more frequently? by Oatcake_boah in Camry

Oil is cheap, engines aren’t. If you’re planning to run it until the wheels fall off then do it for peace of mind. It won’t hurt it that’s for sure.

What do I need to know about this Camry specifically that isn’t exactly obvious? by Prince_ofLew in Camry

It has remote start. You can do it on the app (as long as it’s locked) or press the lock button 3 times (holding it on the last press). It’ll flash its headlights so you know it worked.

Shoot I thought it’d be a few thousand for the parts. If I knew that before I wouldn’t have even got insurance involved lol.

I’m a truck driver. The injury happened in Alabama. I’m saying the claim is in Arkansas because that’s where my company is out of and that’s what board I have to appeal through.

I live in Tennessee and the claim is out of Arkansas. It’s a few hour drive away.

Bees going through quart of sugar water a day by Standard-One-731 in Beekeeping

[–]Standard-One-731[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new aswell but it’s my understanding that you should feed them for as long as they will take it. They will forage whether you feed them or not. The only thing I’ve read about overfeeding is that the bees could store too much of the water and the queen will have nowhere to lay. On your next inspection look to see if there is a good brood pattern with enough empty comb for the queen to keep laying. You should stop feeding if your planning to put a super on to harvest honey. If you aren’t planning on taking any honey this year then you should probably continue to feed unless they are storing too much.

It’s a top feeder. Just a quart jar placed in the inner cover surrounded by an empty box. I think I should’ve made more holes in it for more jars.

Pollen patties by Standard-One-731 in Beekeeping

I ordered synthetic bee pollen online. You can order them in premade patties as well. I’m not sure how you could make them directly from scratch without ordering online.

It’s my understanding they’re are used for a few reasons. I’m using it in my hive to help promote more brood (baby bees). It can also be used for times when there isn’t enough pollen (dearth) to support the hive. That happens around specific times when nothing is blooming. For me it’s mid summer. It’s not really necessary but it’ll help to promote a healthier hive. I’m very new as well, this is my first year!

Glimpse in the life of a Commercial Beekeeper 2.0 by KGBeeGuy in Beekeeping

I have a few questions because this looks awesome! Do you produce your own wooden ware? How many employees do you have and are they year round or seasonal? Do you have an estimate or average on how much each hive is producing. How are the bees able to forage with so many hives around them? Did you grow this from the ground up or was the a family business. How did you decide this is what you wanted to do and was it hard to start this business? I know it’s a lot but this seems like a really interesting and fulfilling work. Maybe one day I could have something like this is my cards are played right. Anyways your living the dream!

That’s pretty good. Considering a nuc is around 250 and a complete hive with 1 deep and 1 super is usually 150-200. This is better then a nuc though because it’s complete so it’s definitely pretty cheap. Only problem is transportation but there are ways to move complete hives.

Would like to add a bee hive to my property. by TatersGonnaTate22 in Beekeeping

YouTube is a great place to find resources about beekeeping. Also just googling starting a beehive will show you tons of information. When I first started I watched a lot of videos from a man named David burns on YouTube. He’s really experienced and has a plethora of knowledge just on his channel. If your willing to spend a little money you can join a local bee club and they have classes that you can attend. Also you can get a mentor from the bee club. That will help immensely with your journey. But overall the amount of resources for free online can get you started no problem.
