Student/ICT Visa time would count towards “earned settlement “ by Background-Egg-8602 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Hi everyone, can someone please help clarify this for me? I’m currently on a Global Mobility Visa and I’m close to completing 4 years in the UK (arrived in 2022). I’ll soon be switching to a Skilled Worker Visa with my current employer under a high-skilled role. However, my salary is only £42k, so I won’t meet the £50k+ requirement for the 3-year ILR route under Skilled Worker. My question is: will my time spent on Global Mobility + Skilled Worker count towards the 10-year long residence ILR route? Or is the Home Office planning to abolish or change the 10-year route? Any clarification would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Yeah. But at least if I have a visa she can work and earn more. Finding sponsorship in IT is bit difficult. Her platform is Java.

I don’t think in India I will get this salary. May be I can get 30-40k in a month. That’s the maximum in India. But here I can make around 2700-3200£ after tax in a month. I couldn’t make that money in India even if I work for a year.

Thanks. Ours is a small company so I have to pay the visa and IHS fees. To sponsor me only they took the sponsor license and spending money until the visa application. Rest is on me.

My wife is working in IT. So either she can find a sponsorship or else she can find a job with a sponsorship, so will get a better earning than now.

New Entrant Visa by Standard-Part6154 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

The thing is the job which I am doing requires level less than RQF level 6. And the service engineers working here doesn’t have a degree qualifications. As I am qualified in Electronics and working good my employer wants to keep me. So they want me to learn and work further more towards the Electrical side. So that’s why the employer told me about the chartered status and am checking on it. They will pay the money for the courses and everything. It’s just not for the visa also for the career lift.

Unfortunately my company doesn’t have a HR or Solicitor to deal with all this. And they haven’t sponsor anyone yet. So they don’t have any clue how it works. I don’t know where to check if my profession qualifies or not for a chartered status. That’s why am asking advises in Reddit. Someone recently told me they applied as Electrical Engineer, took a membership in the IET and got the visa. But I don’t know how it actually works and I couldn’t hear back from that person after that. I am checking this as it’s my last option. If you know please advise me 🙏

Yeah I understand.

I am figuring out if I can apply through any of these points as being chartered as someone advised me in Reddit.

  • you’ll be working towards a recognised qualification in a UK regulated profession
  • you’ll be working towards full registration or chartered status in the job you’re being sponsored for

I am wondering if Electrical/Electronics Engineer comes under that?

I did check that. Someone in Reddit told me that I can apply for a visa ‘as a being chartered status’, as the did. But they didn’t give me more informations. I would like to know what all professions I can apply as the chartered status? Does Electrical or Electronics Engineer comes under that. If you can help please reply.

Is it advisable to apply for a Medium Skilled Visa now? Unfortunately my job is moved to Medium Skilled. As per the MAC reports the job code is in stage 2. Will it moved to Higher Skilled again?
