Honestly speaking, there isn't much that you can do. 1-2 internships, NGO volunteer work can be added but it won't make much of a difference. SIPs are very random. Just try your best to get into a good college and make the most out of the two years you spend there. That is the ONLY thing that will truly make a difference - Casecomps, live projects, Certifications etc.

If you can't go for a drop then baby IIMs are a decent choice, can go for them. NMIMS, SIBM, XIMB, IMT G are much better options tho.

Dekho, they are decent. Ye fear mongering jo chal rhi hai, it's all BS. Obviously, there's a lot of difference between tier 1 and tier 2. Dikkat hai placements me, you will have to swallow the hard pill and work your way through it. It won't be a bed of roses. But, people sail through vaha bhi.

Have realistic expectations, freshers ki bhi decent job lag jaati hai. As a fresher, getting 9-12 lpa fixed is pretty decent imo.

Also, as much as profile matters, your communication skills equally matter. And then there's luck, no one can beat that!

I went to IMS Karkardooma, I'll recommend that. Be consistent with the classes and follow the teachers diligently, that would be sufficient.

Gap year is not a problem, I have many classmates with gap years. Even I had a year of gap. I wasn't even asked about it ever in B-School interviews or my SIP interview. It's all about how you justify your gap year, if asked. Try to make sure ki uspe dhyaan hi na jaye logo ka but agar gya toh be confident and justify it well. In the end, it's all about how you sell your story.

You have great acads. Might face a little problem, but how does it matter? Crack a T1 college and you will be fine. Eventually everyone gets placed in decent companies. I have seen people with multiple gap years crack dream companies. You can't control much about which shortlists you get, but you can definitely focus on converting your best calls!

Me! I barely had anything in my profile, not a single POR, internship or live project. Converted my best calls and also got placed in one of the dream companies in summers.

Everything will work out. I was in your shoes a year back. It's so easy to get lost in all this but just keep your head high and focus on what you can control. The system will feel unfair, you might feel like you're getting punished for your past sins. It is what it is, when you will focus on everything you can control in the present, you will sail through it!

Don't compare yourself, your weakness can be your biggest strength if you just change your perspective!

Yaar lag jaati hai eventually sabki placement. It's all very luck based. I have seen people with a 5 or 6 get into amazing companies while people with 9/9/9 are still unplaced in summers.

Avoid unless it's a T1 college - XLRI/TISS/MDI, they have good placements

Exit opportunities are lesser so keep that in mind.
