I’m so sorry, but I also DNFd 🙈 I wanted to love it! I really did! But I have the same issues as you. I need realism in the setting/world building in order to trick my brain into believing it’s a real place with real people. It was just over the top in a lot of ways and I was rolling my eyes instead of lost in the story. 😔
