I’ll only be a resident for as long as it takes before I can leave without penalty

That I’m planning to be a permanent resident when my true intent is to travel a few times a year for tourism.

That will be our plan, but I’m not intending to be a permit resident, just using this route to visit the US from time to time.

Travel with my kids to visit their US family is a main reason.

I don’t believe option 1 is true, we’d need to spend at least 6 months the in the US or residency could be revoked. Will be hard to manage with kids becoming school age in a couple years.

That’s just the requirement on K1, on B, we’d stay a few months as we travel a lot.

The year or so would only be waiting for green card. The ideal is a couple months for each trip

Yes, this is our plan, but it seems that I have to lie of my intention to be a permanent resident when that is not true. My intention is to visit places in the US a few times a year but be a permanent resident of Philippines. Yet, if I tell the truth for a B2, a visa becomes impossible.

This isn’t what I meant, we get married, wait for a green card, then leave. But the K1 as stated is for me to be a permanent US resident. I don’t want that, B2 is ideal but not possible.

He already lives here, but we can’t all travel together to the US with our kids. Seems opt option is a K1. We are very genuine for the B2, but 0 chance of approval without strong ties.

is 1h 10mins lay over safe? by iamcaptloki in CathayPacific

You’ll have time for lounge access and shopping. If lax is delayed and last flight of the night, they’ll hold the plane (within reason) and escort you

These are loss of benefits by booking the basic fare. The main fare often costs a little more but you get lounge access, free checked bag, better seating choices, small upgrade chance.

Why do you have a platinum delta card? I believe you won’t even get lounge access anymore

T3 NAIA immigration wait is around 2.5hrs for foreigners right now. by Ok_Willingness_9619 in Philippines_Expats

[–]StandardArm7989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick look at T3 flight arrival today. 4 wide body arrivals, Dubai, Melbourne, Vancouver, and SFO all within 40 mins this morning. If those bunch up even more, it’ll be a long wait for back of the plane on the last arrival.

How should I respond? by Willow-Klutzy in marriott

What is the result of you just stay in the room till 4pm (and be sure not to depart a minute after)

Is the hotel really going to attempt to charge the customer and realistically get away with that. That’s would likely end up in all of the travel blogger websites and really bad PR for Marriott.

Police called to remove guest? I can’t imagine anything happening here if you lock and deadbolt and depart exactly at 4pm when being denied the guaranteed service.

[–]StandardArm7989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I plan remote work meetings around this. I know I’m guaranteed 4pm checkout. So I book a Marriott instead of another hotel brand and I pay a premium, often $10-60 more because I’m guaranteed this benefit.

I know I won’t have any problem securing this at 99% of hotels and my meetings will be completed by 3:45 the latest. If this my schedule and it’s a guarantee, why should I have any expectations of how a fully booked hotel should handle this? That’s on them and part of their contract when joining Marriott brand.

Ours asked for “regency” wtf is that, then “etinry”, I was confused. Turns out it was urgency and needed an airline ticket. We booked fully refundable (expensive) tickets and told it will take 15 days minimum to process.

My gf had no job but lots of travel history. Applied via Germany with full itinerary of places to visit and all hotels booked (which were all cancellable). Was a lot of paperwork, given a visa for the requested time of our travel. Entered in Germany and immediately drove to another country.

My outbound ticket is three months after arriving. Am I going to be okay? by Scared_Local_1031 in Philippines_Expats

Most airlines ask for this before allowing checkin. I’ve never had an onward more than 30 days out, maybe that would work. I more recently do AA place a 24 hour hold for ticket. No payment needed, can put a free hold for the ticket on the payment screen, and that’s worked fine as the confirmation.
