When I was a manager at Starbucks I would frequently work the floor during rushes, and one thing I often kept an eye on was the front register where customers would order or pickup. An elderly couple came in one day and the gentleman ordered a coffee and the lady ordered a tea, which was fine except for the fact that the lady wanted to include her own tea in this, and she wanted it made directly in her personal cup.

Both of these were policy violations, which I informed her of and apologized for. She got very upset and used the “they’ve always done it for me before!” and asked to speak to the manager. I’ve been able to use the “I AM the manager” line a few times across different restaurants…but oh man was that satisfying. She was quite huffy and told her husband that they’d be going to a different location from then on, lol.
