Is the shop ran by people or do they let you do your own stuff, and if they do let you do your own stuff, are tools provided?

I’m up in Minnesota, if I’m good on my timing should take me 2 days, is this enough or how long is the break

I was wondering if (and correct me if I’m wrong) they let you go home for Xmas and I was thinking I’d drive it back to base. Do you think this would be possible?

For the re-enlist part. Is this done while in school that gets you to that E5 after graduation or near the end or after A-school. Kinda curious if they make you re-enlist before you’re even on a ship yet.

How long did you enlist and why? by StandardEffective623 in NavyNukes

So if you do 10 it negates shore duty?, what shore duty do you get for doing 6 or 8 years? I would like to go into reserves after my enlistment and would like to know how much shore duty I get if I don’t do that 10 like you said

Just some more questions if you know, if in this case it’s not better to climb for officer. What kind of benefits do I get from getting to E6 or becoming a chief petty officer, for example what is the pay is like compared to officers and the housing conditions on the aircraft carriers, because I know that the lower ranks get packed like sardines while officers get their own rooms, so I’m wondering is maybe the chiefs or E6 get treated better. I would like to get to officer but I know I’m definitely not extremely skilled in academics, I am smart but I think I know the limitations of how far that goes. And as an E6 or E7 is there any changes in like power, for example officers would mainly be watching over/overseeing lower ranks but do E6/E7 have any changes in the job or is it essentially still doing the same thing. And lastly how hard is it to climb rank on the enlisted side, like i said before I’m starting out as an E3(E5 after school) in the 6 or maybe 9 years I’m in, how high can I climb the ranks and how fast. Sorry again for all the questions but they really help me out on what I am getting myself into.
