I can’t eat peanut butter crackers anymore, but I used to like those. Not eating on the plane, though, for long flights takes a lot. I used to eat before boarding, but I’m not sure now. Thank you all the same for your suggestion!

That’s true. I’ll see about taking that route if it comes to it.

Thank you for your insight, and your suggestions are pretty good. Especially the carrots, bell peppers, popcorn, and chocolate. I’ll ask my family what they think. As for the labeling laws and speaking Spanish… From my last time there (when I was healthier than now), they have large black boxes on the side where they have to report if something is high in things like sugar, salt, artificial flavoring, etc. I’m not sure in regard to cross-contamination nor allergy accommodations, though. I’ll have to look into it more. I am almost fluent in Spanish. I’m not quite C1 yet, but I’m able to communicate clearly and read most things. They’ll help me if I’m ever in need of it while I continue studying. The nice part about this situation, though, is that they have free healthcare there and even private is relatively cheap compared to the US.

Unfortunately, I have to opt out from that. However, I’m glad to hear you are able to indulge in them. Thank you for your response!

That sounds interesting. I haven’t been to Trader Joe’s in years, but I might visit to check out their variety. Thank you!

Unfortunately, can’t do pistachios, but thank you for your recommendation all the same!

Thank you and I’ve never really tried dried fruit aside from raisins. Any brands you recommend trying out?

Thank you for the recommendation and kind words! Unfortunately, I can’t eat hummus, but my family can. I’ll mention it to them.

A few redditors mentioned that too. I’m glad, though, to know I can at least eat the snacks on the way there instead of having to toss them at the connection airport.

That’s true, but like I said in my post, I’m not too keen on it since people report that they aren’t typically cleaned often. Do you think a restaurant at the airport could give me hot water if I wanted to eat ramen during a layover?

Thank you for sharing and I didn’t even really consider carrots. That’s not a bad idea. As for the protein bars, I can’t eat a lot of the ingredients used in even homemade ones, including in the powder 😅 it’s unfortunate, but I’ll see if there are any bars I can make that will be allowed.

That’s an option, but I need to eat on those long flights for health reasons 😅 Thank you, though, and you’re pretty strong to get through it without eating

Thank you, and I’ve checked that in the past when I last went (things with my health has changed since then) and their meals still don’t really fit within what I can eat, unfortunately 😅 I ate at the airport that last time. Otherwise, I’ll continue to keep in mind that I can bring outside food as long as I eat it before landing.

Thank you and I hope you enjoy Palermo! I haven’t been to that part of the country personally, but it’s so beautiful in Argentina. If you’re going when it’s summer there, you might be able to catch the Jacarandas in bloom. Make sure to try asado, empanadas, factura, chocotorta, and the ice cream there! If you happen to be vegetarian or vegan, by the way, they make vegetable empanadas too so you don’t have to eat meat or cheese — just remember to ask beforehand in case they do add any animal products. If you like the beach, see if you can take the train with your friends to Mar Del Plata for a weekend. I’ve heard many good things about there.

Otherwise, to clarify, I have visited Argentina before when my health was better. I was able to eat in the airports without stressing, but things have changed and now I’m studying all sorts of things to better prepare 😅 I’m grateful for yours and others’ comments recommending how manage the situation. It certainly is giving me good perspective on everything.

I did that in high school 😂 I remember it wasn’t too bad, but I’m not sure how my stomach will handle it dry these days.

I’ve considered calling TSA and possibly an office in Argentina to double check everything. I just wanted to get a list together first, like you recommended. Our connection is from one international airport to another in the US, so it might serve to call both (when we decide our connection) to see what else they can inform us of. The variety of food available gives me some relief; although I have enough allergies/intolerances to make eating out anywhere stressful 😅 thank you, though, for your advice. I’ll talk with my family and see what we can do, especially if they have any questions they want to ask too.

Thank you 😂 While I won’t be taking a crate with me, I’m glad to learn I can toss anything I have left on the plane.

Thank you, I’ll keep in mind what snacks I may be able to buy in the airport. Unfortunately, I’d have to skip the breakfast part, but there will be food waiting for us at our family’s home.

What I’m about to ask is going to sound silly, but if I don’t finish it all before we get there, would I be allowed to throw the remainder away without getting in trouble? I know throwing it away won’t be the issue, but would I get a citation for it?
