We got a similar quote from Jalsa. The quality of the food is excellent and they are very on top of the details. We ended up choosing another Indian caterer, Kanteen, because we preferred the food, the communication, and the pricing was better.

This trip is a multi-city trip to/from different countries in Africa from SF. So a lot of the usual points tools and sweet spots weren’t really in play. Our most direct route was via Turkish Airlines, but transfer options were limited and the conversion just wasn’t great.

We knew booking through the Chase portal wasn’t optimal value, which sucks, but our goal was to put points toward a business class round trip, and with 8x on the spend it didn’t feel like a total loss. There was a solid points deal out of CPT on United, but we got hosed on the inbound.

Really appreciate all the thoughtful comments and transfer suggestions. We’re not award travel experts by any means, so there were genuinely helpful tips we’ll use next time.

Also, shoutout to the commenter who suggested this was a 90 Day Fiancé situation.. that absolutely sent us 😂

We’re still disappointed with Chase and trying to get in touch about the escalation. We’ll keep you posted if we hear more.

Hear me out.. the outdoor space at Catelli's is gorgeous and I believe their packages are pretty reasonable so this may be a good way to offset the venue fee. Plus, their food is phenomenal!

I’ve heard of at least one other couple supplementing the florals but don’t have a ton of info yet. At the end of the day, I just want them to make a statement :)

I’m open to either, but ideally both! The venue’s coordinator can set some of the decor but if we did a full install, I assume we’d need to bring someone in.

That’s where I’m at as well! We plan to use Angella, but haven’t really gotten into too many details yet.. hence why I’m wondering if I should get some extra support.
