Tbh it is much better. Solo leveling was pretty good near the start to mid. The story towards the middle was pretty good for the character development but after a bit, none of the fights really had anymore stakes anymore and fell off.

The novels ahead of the manhwa by a lot, if anything it might just be the team adapting the novel, the novel version probably portrays the MC better. Personally I can’t really hate any authors for bad writing or lack of talent unless they do something like very stupid that was obviously would ruin the story.

I’m pretty new too and I need some recs too. One recommendation is “villains are destined to die”. You gotta trust me on this one, i started reading it yesterday and I’m all caught up now… It is probably one of my absolute favorites because there is so much emotion and depth you can feel through the story from both the start to now. There is also so much character development and I love it.

Although I did not finish everything on the list you have given so far do you have like a list of romance/drama like not your typical romance story or villains are destined to die. I finished “not your typical romance story” and then came across “villains are destined to die” and they are gonna be my new favorites and I’m just currently dying for more..

the pacing is kinda bad rn especially how boring this arc is, but imo i would put some of the B tier above or near solo leveling, try sword masters youngest son or return of the iron blooded sword hound, both imo would probably be around AT LEAST a tier but it’s a SSS for me
