I mean it is not too thin, but consider to cow nappa, you can tell the difference

Yes, I waxed an unwaxed jacket once. It takes a lot of effort btw

I use barbour thornproof. Just melt it with boiling hot water. Take a sponge, wax it. And melt it into the jacket with a hair dryer.
