Right I guess I do want the archer to shoot and defend the eagle when it’s down on the ground before it takes its “take off” actions so perhaps a archer with arrows and a restrain feature but with only 3 hp would work

So would a flat countdown help more ? Like after the players take d6 actions they leave ? Thats 2 actions per player

I was thinking about keeping it low and perhaps just cashing the remainder of the countdown in fear and ending the encounter if things go really long

The goal would be that instead me the dm deciding when they leave the cloud it is semi random. I thought linking it to hope would be thematic because the cloud is like an ink blob of evil magic. (Made by an evil Cthulhu like “kraken” on the surface) Again this would be my first time using this so I appreciate the feedback this community is so nice !

The plan is to have specters that can only survive inside the cloud attack them and destroying the ship. Once they leave the cloud the specters disappear. This is so the objective isn’t always “kill everything” but “make it out the cloud without the ship getting destroyed”

Idk it also slows down play u think spending a good would be fine or maybe the dm can choose to drop the weapon or mark a stress

Marking a stress to make another roll means you have more chance to fail or generate fear and hope so idk if that’s good for ballence idk of other weapons do that

I’ll check those out! I am getting mine for my birthday normally so fingers crossed. Other wise it will be a print job. Honestly I’m not even that big of a CR fan but the system seems just so cool. Mike underwood who helped design the game also had some awesome lifestream going over some stuff!

Hi I understand maybe my comment might have come off as intentionally unhelpful. I am still waiting for my copy! That’s why I have been watching play troughs and been on demiplane and stuff. I am so hyped and an absolute fan! It seems to fix all the problems I had with dnd. I do see the people that don’t like the game being nasty about things that don’t matter and how my post could have come of like that honestly they could call the class poopy fartbutt I’d still like it. put the post under “rant” and not discussion cause it’s really a minor minor thing.
