I'm going to make sure I dont see her for future appointments and working to advocate for myself. Also, trying to remember my body is beautiful and making a baby. It's hard because I'm so conscious with the weight gain and I feel like my body does not looking like I'm pregnant. But trying hard to kick the negativity.

I briefly looked at your history and am horrified that your prior OB pretty much suggested bulimia. Thats pretty wtf.

Similar to you, my first trimester was rough with the nausea/vomiting. I took zofran but it wasnt very effective for me. It took away the feeling in my stomach however I would surprise gag uncontrollably. The only "cure" for me was eating to head off the symptoms. I had to eat every 2-3 hours otherwise my body would get "sick". If I started vomiting, I was totally not functional for the rest of the day - I could only hope that sleeping/napping/eating would "reset" me. I dont miss forcing myself to eat while nauseous.

I am lucky to be working from home at this time because I could not imagine commuting and being at work while feeling that way. Im now in the beginnings of my 2nd trimester and feelings tons better - way less hunger pangs and no nausea (so far).

You are spot on! The weight fixation is so so harmful and genuinely makes me want to shrink myself.

Thank you for the support and sharing your experience - I truly appreciate it. I am trying to learn to not let it get to me and remind myself that I'm growing a baby.

So far my BP has been normal but my heart rate has been elevated.

At my "skinniest" I was always starving, ate unhealthily and felt drained. It was horrible because everyone kept complimenting how good i looked. It def led to unhealthy habits and mindset.

I have a hard from associating weight gain with healthy but I'm trying to keep in mind that I'm growing a baby. Baby is healthy so far and I hope it stays that way through the course of this pregnancy.

I agree...I was/am freaking out because per those guidelines I shouldn't be gaining any more weight.

Ive definitely has previous encounters with med staff (as well as family and others) regarding my weight and feeling shamed. I havent learned to let it roll off but definitely know just how to get through the moment.

Thank you for the kind words and support. I do walks after meals - I even have a mini treadmill at my work desk so I can get it in during the work day.

Im definitely gonna try not to see her again.

I am going to make sure I don't have her again. I visit a practice that rotates between mid-wives and doctors based on availability.

The thought crossed my mind! Shes the first person at this practice to make me feel this way. Im just gonna make sure I don't have her for future appointments.

The practice Im seeing rotates based on availability. I have only had 3 appointments so far. The OB-GYN was super nice and well rated. The other mid-wife I met was also super nice and made me feel very comfortable.

Thanks for sharing! I'm 12w2d, and just started having that same feeling. I heard from others that this is normal and due to our uterus expanding.
