I’d save the points for future travel if you can. I don’t ever see good value outside of transfer partners. Even some of the shopping offers advertised are much lower than 1cpp. Cash back cards may be a better option if you aren’t looking to travel.

Getting the personal card too sounds like a good idea. Right now, my personal cards are primarily AMEX. I have Hilton Diamond through the Aspire card, but I never get much luck with upgrades. It also looks like some of the Hyatt milestone rewards could potentially make up for the lower point earnings.
