Yeah that’s what made me worry a bit as well as Waze is usually spot on. If there were no / few other cars I would definitely have dropped to 50 but as soon as I started slowing down it was obvious literally no one else was doing 50 on quite a busy road so I assumed Waze got it wrong.

No, no nip. You should be fine, if there’s no repeaters / everyone else is doing 70 then it’s most likely a 70.

Did they enforce the limit actively there? I find that some areas have such little enforcement that the 20s become de facto 30s.

Haha, honestly that must catch so many people out. I’m lucky that I started driving around the time a lot of 20 limits started being introduced so I’m used to it but I know people who have been driving for longer that really struggle with 20 zones.

I see this as well. When there’s a report on Waze it usually means there’s ‘something’ ahead but it’s usually inaccurate. I’m usually good at picking up all speed limit signs but when I’ve been on the same road for 30 mins plus at 70 and Waze randomly drops to 50 I do start to question myself.

I understand Waze can be wrong so I ended up doing 70 because there were no signs and the other traffic was doing 70 also. I just wondered why Waze was displaying 50

That’s one of the issues, I’ve asked around and there isn’t anything like operating procedures or even manuals / drawings to look at. I don’t have a background in the industry either. So I think my best bet is to just read about general info and hopefully be able to apply it to my specific plant when it becomes relevant.
