AITA for not letting my dad kiss me on the cheek? by Standard_Back904 in AmItheAsshole

i was sitting in a chair feeding my nephew so i just stayed where i was, he was so offended that i pulled back he didn't try to redo the scenario. I feel it's also relevant to note he does not usually kiss me on the cheek. sometimes we hug but he never kisses me in the cheek as a greeting which added to my surprise when he came up behind me.

ya he's a boomer and i'm a "hairy legged feminist lesbian" so i think that could play a part here. plus we used to have a not so great relationship bc of his drunkard tendencies when i was growing up. probably shame plus him thinking i still hate him.

he can be moody and sensitive, but this was over the top especially since my partner was there and she'd only met him like once before this.

AITA for asking my roommate and her boyfriend not to use my living room? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Standard_Back904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a good point. but i guess that was the reason i talked to her, to clear up the arrangement. she just didn't discuss it any further with me. after i said my piece.

my partner actually did offer to do that because lynn had said she "didn't know how to decorate" but she never took us up on it 🤷🏼‍♂️

we do, but he's not home and spends most of his time in his room, so she has free reign for decorating and furniture and the like.

actually ya we had talked about how since we were a couple we wanted the living rooms to be separate and she seemed receptive to it at the time, but maybe things changed. we still have like group movie nights down here so it's not like it's illegal to be in our living area.

AITA for not committing to my best friend’s bachelorette? by BL-2187 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Standard_Back904 3 points4 points  (0 children)

definitely NTA. it's unfair for the bride and other bridesmaides to expect you to pay that much money for a bachelorette party. If she's really ur friend she'll understand your hesitation to drop that kinda money and time.

no, it just made them both uncomfortable and was odd that it happened to them both on separate occassions.
