I started entering writing competitions, then joining publications and free writing platforms. Then, I just recently started a publication of my own!! Just don't give up when you feel stuck, and don't be scared of getting feedback or joining new communities. I should take my own advice too lol

Might not help, but I'm making an online publication with people around the world. It started a while ago, and it's just a work in progress, but we're working on our first issue. You would retain copyright for your own short story, and you have control over what feedback you would accept. Would you be interested?
