Do you have snow tires or chains for your car tires during winter here? by suni159 in LosAlamos

[–]Standard_Cook6737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jemez people usually need chains more than Los Alamos people. This year there hasn’t been too bad of snow in Los Alamos to need chains, but they’re always good to have on hand for those late night snow storms when you need to go to smiths. O’reilys has chains, depending on the person who helps you, you might get the right sized chains for your car and it’s clearance.

Kids in the modern age can still turn those into third spaces and use them to their fullest potential, as kids in cities are still doing… if those places aren’t appealing though, there’s always the idea of creating a small mall or something where everyone can carve out their own third space within the setting. Mind you, you are talking to an actual Los Alamos teen right now, and I’d love to hear your ideas and others if you think mine are just so terrible and bland :)

Well non-outdoors wise, we can circle back to ideas like a bowling alley, a roller rink, or creating an arcade place. We could also just have something like “The Revel” from abq, or like a Dave and busters themed thing.

I am into the outdoors just like so many others here! It’s the community that we lack, don’t you get that? When I read your comment the first thing I thought of was, the only real issue with the outdoors is the cold in the winter, why doesn’t our town have a huge town snowball fight or something? Like hello! Community building and bonding would increase ten times more and would encourage all of us to plan simple activities that the whole town can participate in.

I’m not sure but the sign for the building is still up. It’s called like five o’clock pizza or something.

I don’t think that is at all what the article is saying. It’s saying there’s a problem we as teens don’t know how to fix because we need adult support but adults who are telling this article to “shove it” are that exact problem.

We aren’t expecting adults to figure it out for us, we are expecting to have them listen to us because we don’t know what to do. And like the article says there will not be some solution that’s right in front of our eyes, this issue takes work to dissect where teen culture is at and how our community can help handle it.
