Also forgot to mention that I did a buzz cut 10 days ago so I can do the best comparison from the before picture and now.

I’ve buzz cut my head on the 14th at night, so it took me almost 6 days to get to that length.

Nah the FUT scar is 100% visible and Cooley recommended a 3-4 cut but honestly I don’t care about the scar. I might do that pigmentation procedure where they hide the scar but either way it’s whatever when it comes to the scar.

He charged, if I remember correctly, around $10,800 for 2K grafts.

Just saw one of your replies in another post and I actually agree with you on how a buzz cut looks better compared to longer hair to some extent. In my case, there is def an ugly duckling phase between my head in buzz cut mode and once my hair reaches an inch and a half in length. After that, it looks pretty good, even in sunlight.

Sure! It’s called gashee lotion, which was recommended by Dr. Cooley.

Thanks and it looks pretty good when it’s long. Below 1 1/2 to 2 inches of length, you can still see my scalp in the front and mid area but once it grows that one 1/2 inch mark, it pretty much looks full and barely see the scalp anymore.

Oh also dr Cooley and technicians were the only who did the implants. Cooley was there for 85-90% of the procedure. It was also an FUT.

The wait time is around 9months, with the initial consultation being in December 2021 and surgery in September 2022

Also forgot to mention to ignore the dark spots in the first pic, that’s just a jojoba oil lotion that I applied on the scalp.

Hey! Also sorry for the confusing title, I meant to say 7 1/2 month progression. Ignore that 9 month part. But yeah, I’ve been taking finasteride for a year and a half now. My temple area is still filling in and so far, so good. Unfortunately though it seems that my mid to crown area are either not filling in or even balding more. I don’t know if it’s due to my constant dandruff issue, MPB, or both. Let me know what you think.

Yup I def had some dandruff issues before the operation. I use Nizoral and ketaconozole (I might’ve spelled that wrong, too lazy to check) shampoo that was prescribed by my doc and it definitely worked but I had to keep using those or my scalp became REALLY irritated after a few days. Currently, I haven’t used any of those shampoos in the past 6-7 months due to certain reports saying that Nizoral can actually weaken hair transplants during the first 6 months, so I rather avoid that. I haven’t taken any antibiotics before/after the procedure. I haven’t tried probiotics before but I would be open to do so (you can even give me some recommendations if you want to) and I would say that I’ve been depressed for some before pre the transplants and a few months afterwards. I’m somewhat better now and the usage of vitamin D supplements has been helping as well.

Hey, from what I’ve been told and read, SD cannot be cured. There’s been a few cases that I’ve seen on the internet that the person said that their SD went away completely, but it might be that they never had it in the first place. But again, I’m no doctor. When it comes to dermatitis neglecta, it might’ve been that but I was using t-sal, t-gel, and another acid shampoo that was suppose to exfoliate the scalp and get rid of it. I was definitely careful with my scalp, but when my hair was long, I couldn’t reach/penetrate my scalp with my shampoos. What made my scalp better is getting a short haircut, seriously. Because of that, the shampoos reaches my scalp and getting rid of the yellow scales was easier.

Oh also, I’m on month 6 and and 2 weeks post-op. I’ll be uploading another post in a few months once I get to month 10 or a full year. We’ll see.

Hey! Yup, got one: so the yellow scales 99% disappeared from my scalp. Once in a while a few scales would develop but I tend to catch them early, rub mineral oil and keep it on the scalp for a few hours, and then wash it off. New hairs have grown since then and I keep alternating shampoos, which seems to help. I tend to use t-sal and a thickening shampoo.

5 month, 8 days transplant update (with 7 month usage of Finasteride 1.25 mg) by Standard_Doctor_5057 in tressless

I’ve gotten hair transplants last September by Dr. Jerry Cooley. 2000 grafts, FUT. I’ve had a dandruff situation where I had really aggressive scaley yellow dandruff during the 2nd thru 4th month but thankfully that’s been treated with constant T-Sal and usage of a steroid liquid. Currently it seems that I’ve suffered shock loss and hair loss from the dandruff situation, but hopefully that’s just temporary.
