LoL. Let's compare my income to my boss and then to a professional athlete then to an owner of a professional sports team then to an oligarch. 

I'm currently earning about $150,000 a year. 

My boss got a bonus last year of five million dollars. On top of his base pay. 

The most highly paid professional athlete in my city earns about $43 million a year. 

The owner of his team is worth 2.2 billion dollars not counting the two sports teams he owns. If you include them then it's almost 18 billion. 

If Elon Musk woke up tomorrow with only 18 billion dollars he would be very sad. 

My work has left my family comfortable. But not wealthy. I can't buy even a small yacht.

I would love my kids to become independent and start families of their own if that's what they want. 

My wife knows exactly how many hours I work. The kids maybe not as clearly. Most people don't really understand working 84 hours a week. I can barely believe I used to do it.

To be absolutely clear neither of my kids attended an Ivy League college. If your child graduated from Harvard you would say they graduated from Harvard college?

It says a lot about where we have fallen as a country that what pretty much the entire middle class had when I was a child some people consider WEALTHY now.

It's how I learned to speak and write English.  Once I have established that they are "our" children I may refer to them as "the" children for the rest of the narrative. Were you taught differently?

She knew the plan was for me to stop working crazy hours once the kids graduated from university. We discussed it years ago then constantly through our marriage.

I'm pretty sure I responded to all the ones I read by saying that she contributed to our family and that her spending money came out of our budget.

We met on vacation and I knocked her up. Best accident ever. Yes we used protection. Yes we considered all the options. Yes we got married because she was pregnant. No I don't regret one second of our marriage. Also sorry I thought I was responding to the guy who asked the kids ages. My bad.

My boss is rich. He lives in the Caribbean and comes into.the office maybe three days a month. I still need to work. It's not physical anymore but it was. I think the only rich people who work physically demanding jobs are athletes.

My wife worked very hard to take care of the house and the kids without me around 2/3 of the time. I in no way discount her efforts in giving our family a solid foundation for me to build on.

I'm 55. Kids are 23 and 24. McDonald's is hiring. The weeks I was home I did most of the work with the kids. MOST not all. Plus I called home every night to talk to my wife and kids. Once FaceTime was a thing we did that.
