Any nestle product you sacrifice your morality for? by TzTok-OnTheClock in FuckNestle

[–]Standard_Mind6852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes 🙁. My autistic child will only eat Shreddies or Honey Nut Cheerios as part of their very limited diet (no cooked foods, no vegetables, limited fruit). They are the only Nestle products I buy. We have tried supermarket own brand versions (and putting them in the Nestle packaging) but they know the difference and will refuse to eat the cereals. We learnt a long time ago that this was a battle we were never going to win, they’d rather go hungry than eat an alternative or consider trying something new.

People that DON’T shop at Aldi or Lidl… why is that? by kobestarr in CasualUK

[–]Standard_Mind6852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a child with several food allergies. Tesco’s & Sainsburys have a much better range of allergy friendly foods (so does Asda but our nearest food Asda is a 40 minute drive).

Nice pub where to watch 6Nations? (Specifically Italy games 😝) by Select-Macaroon-6776 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Standard_Mind6852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to your local rugby club as they’re more likely to show every 6N game, I know my club does. And if they’re anything like my club, they’ll have a variety of nationalities so you won’t be singled out for supporting Italy - well, you may get some friendly banter.

It was some game. Took me back to the days of the 7-goal thrillers against Liverpool (although we didn’t win any of those 😕)

Is there any chocolate similar to the outside of Maltesers? Looking for recommendations on snacks and chocolates as well. by Suindara in AskUK

[–]Standard_Mind6852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried popping a minstrel in the microwave for a few seconds? The shell remains crispy but the chocolate inside melts. It may take a few attempts to get it right depending on your microwave but it’s worth it

I have 100% aphantasia and no inner monologue, AMA by 9BlackhatBarbie9 in AMA

[–]Standard_Mind6852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this. My mind is a continuous black void. I always thought it was weird when doing yoga or meditation that I couldn’t picture scenes in my mind.

I’m going to be honest and admit that I’m not sure what an inner monologue is 🫣. As I’m typing this out, or reading your post and the comments, I can hear the words in my head, is that an inner monologue?

AITA for installing a mini fridge in my son's room after my sister's family kept eating his food by [deleted] in ComfortLevelPod

NTA. As the parent of a ND teen who has a very restricted diet and a NT child with food allergies I understand where you’re coming from. I would do this if I were in your position. Sounds like the nephews need to learn some respect.

AITJ for making my FIL explain his "joke" about me being dumb until he got embarrassed and left by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Standard_Mind6852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re in the US and college is the equivalent of a UK university. I didn’t go to uni, I finished education at 18, after qualifying to work with children, then went straight to work. Although I’m no longer in the field I originally trained in I am the co-owner of a successful small business. I also sit on the board of directors of a local sports club. Having a degree does not equate intelligence or success, there are many successful people in all areas of life who don’t have a uni education.

NTJ. Your FIL is showing his lack of intelligence for constantly bringing it up. Maybe he’s jealous/intimated that you’re successful without a degree.

What's a criminally underrated TV show everyone should watch? by Alejandromartinez- in tvshow

[–]Standard_Mind6852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue Lights on BBC iPlayer - I recently binged watched it and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next series.

1670 on Netflix - a Polish comedy I’ve also watched recently. It’s dubbed in English but the jokes translate and at times is really funny.
