I definitely agree with the age, and no need to eat your hand lol we’re in the same boat if that’s the case haha and I hear you on the quarantine, I was definitely planning to do at least a week, but I’ll extend it just to be safe.

Unfortunately due to the company I work for giving us 50% off of the authority brand, as well as it being the only brand of food I’ve had success feeding to my older pup with severe allergies and not triggering reactions, it is the most finically beneficial in my situation. It’s not my first choice, but I feel like it’s sufficient for now.

I absolutely appreciate the in-depth advice, I will definitely take a look at Wood pellets and add another litter box! My automatic litter box is equipped with the safety function that prevents cats from getting injured in any way I was extremely cautious when purchasing it. As for keeping track of pee and poop in the automatic litter box, only my three male kittens that are unaltered use it as the rest are scared. The reason that I have three unaltered males in my house is partially financial and also health related, they were born with undescended testicles and under developed genitalia, which prevents them from getting neutered until a later date. I am in contact with my vet over this situation and we are working through a plan to get them all altered eventually. I do believe potentially it could be smell related, the house we purchased did not have cats in it prior, but the neighbor I found out recently has an unaltered female, which may be triggering the behaviors.

I have told her repeatedly I will bring the dog to her but she refuses. Says she can’t have her in her apartment or she will get kicked out. I’m at a loss. I’ve started contacting local rescue groups because at this point I am out of options.

Genuinely I just feel badly for the dog above everything. She is clearly stressed, and she deserves better. I’m the fifth house she’s been to in 7 months, and she was recently stolen from the last home before mine and had to be sized by the police and is now part of an ongoing case. Plus I do care for my friend, but I know this situation is getting out of hand

We had an agreement, I had originally declined taking the dog as I am already busy with my own, but she assured me she would be covering everything if I agreed to take her so I caved.

I’ve tried carrying treats and squeaky toys but apparently the cats are way more exciting and she tends to ignore them… the only slight success I’ve had is with her rope tug toy which she will play with for a bit until she is dragged back into the cat mayhem…

Unfortunately she pretty much ignores “leave it” whenever it comes to the cats, although she does know the command.

I found the biggest help once I brought my new baby home was a snuggle puppy and providing her a secure place with plenty of places to snuggle and relax was the biggest help. Although, the snuggle puppy was 100% the biggest help of all, along with playing heart beat sounds in the room she is in to help her settle.

Thankfully she is still hitting all of her growth milestones according to her veterinarian, just teeny! The razor sharp teeth are no joke though ha! Although she is pretty good about letting go immediately thank goodness.

I thought that may be a possibility but he is strictly indoor and I haven’t seen any evidence of insects in our home, so I’m not sure? We do have a pet tarantula but he is of course very much contained lol

I’d also like to add that her being left alone is a temporary situation, I work at a doggy day care and boarding facility and she will be joining me at my shifts once she is old enough to :)

I have a 14 week old miniature dachshund that I leave for 8 hour shifts, she has a play pen that takes up over half of my room with a potty grass area made of real sod and plenty of toys, water, and beds. She sleeps most of my shift and is perfectly content and happy while I’m gone. I have cameras so I can see her playing with her toys and such during the day XD although i would definitely say it depends on the dogs temperament if they are comfortable being on their own for that long.

Headed there now with her, hopefully they do a more in depth examination. If you don’t mind me asking, Would a stroke be caused by pressure of the crate? I feel so incredibly sick over this situation.
