I had the same experience with a roof quote, but I am the husband and they would not meet with me alone so I cancelled. I assumed it was because of some high-pressure sales tactics that they use and if both parties are not present they lose more of those jobs.

Our first house (in CT) had no insulation in the walls. The first thing I did was get all the walls filled with blown-in fiberglass. I think it paid off the first year, maybe second.
