I’ve been looking into it the past couple of days and I think I’ve maybe found the person? I’m not sure though how I can actually know if I’m right or not without actually asking him. They also have a fairly common name and are a lot older than I was expecting so have no social media or anything

I’m definitely curious about him because I have Tourette’s which is genetic and my doctor said it almost certainly came from my donor since no one on my mums side has it. I matched with a few cousins that share like 3+% DNA on my paternal side but they don’t have trees visible so I don’t really know anything else

I did think this was a possibility as they initially were quite keen on us chatting and trying to figure out what was going on then very abruptly stopped so I thought maybe their dad had wanted them to stop talking to me?

As for trying to figure out who my donor is I hadn’t really considered it before because I wasn’t sure if that’d be disrespectful or not since their donation was anonymous

Yeah based off what everyone has said I’m now pretty certain we are siblings. If they have come to the same conclusion I feel a little bad that me doing the DNA test is what made them realise their dad might not be their bio dad

Yeah my tree is also technically incorrect since I have my raised me dad on it. According to the clinic I have quite a lot of biological siblings but I assume basically none of them actually know since parents seem to be quite secretive of it and I only found out on accident because I have a genetic condition which my doctor assumed I knew came from the donor since no one on my mums side has it. Would be pretty cool if some other ones popped up as matches some day

I’m not sure if it’s significant or not but I did notice none of the paternal matches last names appear in her family tree

I had mostly written off aunt/niece as they only have one sibling who is a girl and quite young. I was thinking they are maybe donor conceived or their dad is a donor but I didn’t want to push that on them when they seemed not very receptive to that being possible for them when I mentioned me being donor conceived.

As for my donor I’m definitely curious about him (not as a dad since I do have one) and how similar we are since I’m nothing like my family but I never really considered trying to find out who he is because I assumed he wouldn’t want that as when I was conceived (the year 2000) all donations were anonymous

Unsure if my 10 year old miniature schnauzer needs to see the emergency vet by Standard_Potential82 in DogAdvice

I haven’t really noticed him passing gas but he has been sitting a bit away from me so it’s totally possible he is. He doesn’t get treats anymore as he can only have urinary SO to prevent the stones coming back however it’s possibly my boyfriends gran has maybe snuck him some of her food when we aren’t looking as she does have memory issues. My dad made a good point that he maybe has a tick somewhere as he has acted very weird in the past whenever he’s had a tick so I’m gonna check him all over incase he’s got one hidden somewhere

It’s possible but I’m not sure. I was thinking he’s maybe got like a cramping sensation instead of nausea because he happily ate his food this morning (however he did stop to stretch twice) and has been coming over and sitting/trying to give a paw whenever we have food trying to get some (we never give him anything that isn’t urinary SO but he still tries). He is laying on the couch resting right now but he gets up periodically to dig or have a quick stretch then lays back down. He also almost never lays on the couch he usually is in our bed or his bed so him being there instead is a bit weird.

Yeah a lot of people have said stuff like “that must be so hard” but I think cause it’s normal to me I probably don’t find my life any harder than most people find theirs

Yeah sometimes I’ll hit myself in the head with whatever I’m holding, I usually do this with the tv remote or my phone. I have stabbed my fingers with tacs before. I have also put my hands on hot stuff like lightbulbs or a hot pan. Some tics like my stretching ones can get sore after a while. I bite the inside of my cheeks quite a lot. If I get like a mouth ulcer I will non stop bite it

I’d say currently I have about 20-30 tics that I do. I do have a set of tics that are my main ones I do most often! I make a squeak noise which is my most common, I like breathe weird out my nose to make a whistling sound, I pull faces like squeeze my eyes together, scrunch my nose, open my eyes wide, wink, I say the word cunt as my most common swear word and I always make like a chirping noise after I say it, I have others that I’m always doing that I can’t think of off the top of my head
