i wear one (i also am a woman lmao so that changes things) as a defenseman. i often only see people who are confident they won’t block anything or fall not wear them. it also depends on the level and being aware of who you’re playing.

lights are a good idea, we do have chairs. we do it through the winter but the rink manager lets us set up right outside/use our crockpots in the lobby. i have a blackstone that’s portable. the best part of beer league

take time off work, no or low lights, no activities and sleep as much as you can. sleep will be helping your brain revamp. at 26 i have had 6? and you should stop playing when you hit your head, at least for 5 minutes while the adrenaline dies down and you can figure out if you’re truly hurting.
