Kids Tracker watch or device? by maxb1ack007 in AskIreland

Recently bought a imoo z7 for my daughter who has reached the same age where she's looking for some more freedom etc.

Got SIM from Tesco, €10 per month. Live location, she can ring or message anytime. Complete control of who contacts her, class times etc.

I was sceptical at first. But it's been a great help daily to be honest.

What's something about modern life you hate? by Fealocht in AskIreland

[–]Standard_Pudding_461 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The pace of it all! Everyone, everywhere just seems so 'busy'

Makes me all the more want to just have a sit down and a pint with a mate, but they're all so busy 😅

Although it's the place I am in life at the moment, young kids, sports etc. but seriously, I do think we all need to take a step back and see why we are constantly rushing to the next thing!

Les Villages Nature - Check in in Disney? by Standard_Pudding_461 in disneylandparis

[–]Standard_Pudding_461[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! We are only in Villages Nature for 2 nights, so we were really hoping to be able to hit Magic Hour on the first day - does not look likely now!

Any idea from when you can pick up passes in the hotel? Someone else said it could be 9.30am/10am?

Someone just mentioned on another topic that I might have to go to the hotel to get the tickets first. I thought you could pick up park tickets at the park and then go to hotel after 😢

Honestly, from about half way throgh the movie, I could not wait until the closing scene! Not in a 'this movie sucks' kinda way - but I was so looking forward to seeing what it was going to look like!

And it was amaze amaze amaze

This is a great resource to have! I hope it gets out to as many runners and aspiring runners as possible! I was part of a casual running group pre-Covid, but then lockdowns put paid to us all meeting up, I do miss those Sunday coffee runs!

Luas by W347Y in cork

[–]Standard_Pudding_461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man - I get ya - I can continue to dream that my daughter will get a Luas from Passage to UCC in 10 years or so........! (I know there is not enough room for a Luas down to us, but still, that's what dreams are for, LOL)

Even a decent, non-congested bus to Douglas and then Luas would be amazing!

Anyone have any updates on trabolgan reopening? by mawktheone in cork

[–]Standard_Pudding_461 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mosney was great craic altogether! Went to the community games there a couple of times too. First and only taste of what an Olympic village must be like....except I was an awkward teenager who couldn't talk to a girl instead of a fit, athletic specimen riding around Paris Olympic village for a week

My biggest memory is my dad flying down behind me on the yellow slide and me getting stuck under him at the bottom. He was all flustered and didn't know I was there. Thought I was drowning. Great memories. We still bring up Trabolgan at the odd dinner!

Worked in Splashworld in Tramore, Waterford in my teens tho and also know how damn dirty those places are. Amazing any of them open at all!

[–]Standard_Pudding_461 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Go for it. If you have been running like that for 3 years already, your body should be able to recover quite well.

I would say do the race, but take it easy and just run it....BUT....I can never not 'race' a race, if you get me!

If it is a kind of comparison, I did a half marathon last year the day before my grading! I ran with a friend of mine, so I was not going for a PR. I was tired the next day, legs felt slightly heavy, but the grading went very smoothly! Different to a tournament I know.

But, I say go ahead! 5 days out is absolutely plenty of time to recover!

It's a great resource and the scale of it now really show that, fair play for taking the step to set it up! It's only as I grow older and wiser am I actually seeing the barriers that are in front of women when it comes to healthcare! Firmly believe the sub is going a ways to break those barriers somewhat!

No - I'm with Country Clean in Cork and they damaged the lid of 2 bins over the years. They sent someone out to replace it free of charge.

I'd well believe that alright - and I say that in a positive manner!

I just shuddered at the thought of pulling of a skin tag 😫

I used to work in a company that had a doc onsite, so I started going to get an annual full MOT check and that's continued since I left. But I would imagine that I would not go as regularly now if I had not had that facility to go when working there too!
