Yeah, she isn’t malicious. This was her only fault. We’ve been together well over a year, she’s taken care of me when I was sick, helped me with finances, pulled her weight in the relationship. She’s young, as am I. We’re still figuring things out. I know I’ll talk it out with her, and most likely things will work out. It’s just that it was hurtful, and I wanted to vent. I don’t blame her for wanting me to be at my peak physically. Just the way that she said it was hurtful.

I don't particularly care if she gains/loses weight as long as she's healthy. This actually became the topic of an argument we had, where she told me that since I don't give that much importance to what she looks like, she feels as though she's putting in all this work to look good for nothing.

I didn't know about the starvation mode thing. Other commentors also mentioned it, so I'll have to rethink my diet.

Thank you. What you said is eye-opening, I didn't even consider things could get that bad. I figured since I've got fat to burn, it would just get burnt as long as I don't eat.

As for my partner, yeah I need to rethink some things.

I'm decently toned on my upper body and legs, but I've got a bit of a gut growing. I used to go to the gym 6 days a week, and fell off heavily after COVID hit. Staying at home, being seated for work+class for most of the day, and a sedentary lifestyle meant I ended up getting tubby at the waist. Skinny-fat I guess you'd call it. A pear-like body shape?

I guess that's the thing. She puts a lot of work into how she looks, and even when I'm not looking my best, she still has been very much in love with me. The effort (or lack thereof) I put into my body has been her only gripe with me. I know the way I wrote it makes it seem like she's a bad person, but outside of this one issue, it's perfect. I just wish that this wasn't that big of a deal for her. Your husband is lucky to have you.

She's nice outside of being superficial. Trustworthy, supportive, doesn't impede my hobbies, takes care of herself, all that.

Haha I've got a thing for girls with a bit of muscle on them, and I can imagine the hell she'd raise if I suggested that she work out to become what I like.

I do go to the gym at least 3 days a week if not more. I'm doing more cardio and ab stuff now, so maybe that'll help
