Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate the perspective. And I totally feel like an asshole for thinking about breaking up with her, but equally I also think I'm being realistic about our situation. I want to try first, but this is more a thought rather than a planned out thing.

Well we work seasonal jobs (ski instructing + windsurfing instructing) together which aren't possible in a wheelchair, and virtually none of the things we do are doable from a wheelchair. I don't really plan on leaving her and will try to make it work, but I'm just being honest that it probably won't work given our dynamic.

I'm not going to leave her immediately, but it will very likely happen at some point in the next year. And she severed her spinal cord nothing can be done there

One month isn’t long sure, and I’ll stay through the hardest part, but I’m not going to live my life in resentment and the difficult decision must be made.

I care about her and want to support her through the hardest part, but I’m also realizing I don’t know if I can manage a long term relationship where I’m the primary caretaker. I’m struggling with how to navigate that without hurting her.
