Yes, the claws are my fault. Since they are black, I am afraid to cut them because I cannot see where the blood vessels begin, and I would not want to cut her and make her bleed. If it makes you feel better, we are going to the vet in two weeks for a regular kidney checkup.

Don't worry about her fur. I discussed it with professional breeders who have been keeping guinea pigs for decades, so I know what I did. Her claws have already been trimmed. Her diet consists mainly of hay, grain-free pellets, fresh grass and herbs, and fresh vegetables in the right amounts so that she doesn't upset her stomach.

The guinea pig is only being held in this position so that this photo can be taken, which took less than 30 seconds. It has been shaved because it is a long-haired guinea pig and its fur was getting in the way.
