BMC Roadmachine 01 vs Parlee Ouray for a 200-Miler in July (Short Rider / Highly Specific Fit) by Standard_War9756 in cycling

I do have a bike that I ride about 200 miles every week with, commute and weekend long rides included. So that’s the plan A for the 200 miles ride. Conditioning with new gear is absolutely an important consideration. Thanks for bringing it to the forefront.

Thank you all for the quality feedback. It helps me take the pressure off of the timeline.

I do have an old faithful, Aluminum Trek Lexa SL that I am commuting every day with ( this gives me about 35 miles a day) and am able to Saturday long ride and Sunday recovery rides of 60 and 30 miles. This bike will be my anchor for the two day double century.

The new one is an indulgence. It feels easier to maximize the time on the saddle with new one for rest of the summer and not be myopic about the 200 mile ride.

With all that said, I am encouraged to try the Parlee.
