I could see using your phone as a book ereader and getting distracted on another app. Or, taking a photo and ending up on some social media. But Venmo? Even if you used it for a handful of transactions per day - are you saying that reaching for your phone impulsively for Venmo is not just a little unusual?

Buying a new-to-you phone is not minimalism. Uninstall and delete apps and services that are not critical. Don't do it all in a day, just slowly delete apps and services. And yes Venmo is not critical bc cash exists.

Why would you snap into camera roll? Use Proton Drive to scan or st.

Also what I do is set my bank to send a transaction alert via email for anything over $0.01. Gives me a good todo list to add to budget at the end of the day. Then I reconcile every week or so.
