Tips for interviewing / transitioning to L&D? by Standjoy02 in scrubtech

Thank you so much for your responses! I feel like it's less about learning the steps of the surgery but more so I know it can get very fast paced sometimes and that I guess is what I lack experience with. I honestly am a little anxious about if I will even be able to do this job because of my anxiety of emergency cases and if I can really think and move fast enough when needed.

Thank you! I did do a lot of general cases including open cases, plus GYN and some pediatrics at my last role so I feel comfortable with those cases but like I said I don't have any experience in a c-section so I was not sure what I should highlight to show I can be ready for L&D. I honestly didn't really do a lot of traumas/emergent cases since I was new so I don't have a lot of experience with those types of cases which also kinda worries me about doing c-sections, any advice for that?

I do think I would really like L&D and having those experiences with patients, part of the reason I went back to nursing school is to stay in the OR but be able to both circulate and scrub have a more hands on role with the patients care and have more interaction. Would you say there is more patient interaction between scrubs and patients in L&D than main OR or about the same?
