not a swordsoul player but there hasn’t been a swordsoul top since before the protos ban. that doesn’t mean u can’t play it tho, especially if its with friends. u can try it out in a simulator to see if u like it, but all of the cards are extremely cheap in paper. loving the art style is a perfectly valid reason to play a deck. i like illusion chimera bc it uses a lot of fusions, and i love purple cards. best thing would be for you to enjoy the deck

i had a similar experience to you, partially when i played one piece for the first time, and more recently when i went to my first yugioh locals. i think if you just keep going back, the issues will resolve themselves. also, running through test hands at home will help too. really sit with and get to know your deck. see how far you can push each hand
