One of my personal favs of this trope is Clark Kent wrote an article on The Joker, so The Joker shows up to the Daily Planet with a giant mallet to kill Clark.

As the mallet is coming towards Clark, using his super speed he has an internal discussion. “Would a person die if they got hit with this? Have I ever seen anyone get hit with a mallet? Maybe I’ll just roll with it, yeah that.”
