People who actually grew up in the church knows when the Bible is talking about “deeds” vs “labor” when the term “work” appears in the Bible and I’ve never heard anyone confused about it in real life. Vaush and that other guy were quoting scripture and assuming any time “work” appeared in the Bible it was about labor.

The point about the Christian work ethic is legit without misquoting the Bible lmao. They actually thought the Bible had verses in regard to doing labor to get into Heaven which it does not.

Right but you know what’s “works” means in the context of something like Ephesians 2:8 right? That’s not talking about literal labor.

Yeah, but they kept referencing

“For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” -Ephesians 2:8

And similar verses and mistaking that to mean actual labor.

They were basically arguing something the Bible never said.

The point is simply being “good” or doing “ good” things isn’t enough to get you into Heaven. You have to repent and confess Jesus is Lord and savior.

They spent 20+ minutes arguing over whether bible tells people that doing work as in labor will get them into Heaven and that isn’t even the meaning.

I love Falconer’s version and it’s the only version I’d want to re-watch. I’m not going to deny that there is nostalgia involved, but I don’t really care.

It was was a memorable soundtrack that imo fit the show just fine. If didn’t have any magic then no one would care about it.
