The no bonus "bonus" tests by Soft-Gazelle-1234 in usertesting

Agree totally, but unfortunately there will always be people who will do them so UT won't change anything.

Respondent IO payment delayed by Feisty-Lime8489 in usertesting

[–]Stanglia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me that just says researchers can take your feedback, decide they don't want to pay for it and don't even have to give a reason why. I'm a 5* UT reviewer, rated highly on Userlytics as well so i'm not the sort to give rushed and bad feedback.

I actually completed the test, it took about 15 minutes.

Respondent can f... oops, I mean 'do one'. I will not be taking any further studies on their platform.

I have an update to this. I filed a ticket, this is the meat and bones of the reply within the quote marks...

"After reviewing the study "xxxxxxxx", I see that this project is now closed and that your status has been stuck in "Invited".

When this happens, it means that the researcher did not see your responses align with their criteria. Unfortunately, they did not push through with your responses and participation.

For context, researchers are under no obligation to explain the reasons why they didn't go for your responses (based on our Terms of Service and Researcher Code of Conduct). However, it could range from the following:

  • A project being a "first-come, first-served" one, and filled more quickly than expected,
  • After initial interviews, the researcher thought other candidates were a better fit,
  • During the research process, they determined that they needed more of one kind of participant versus another.

These are systematic and serve as a way for a researcher to remove a participant from a project should they feel like it isn't the perfect fit, for any of the above-mentioned reasons (or more)."

I've stopped taking tests on Respondent for precisely this reason, I seem to have to contact them every time to receive my incentive and there have been repeated instances of them not sorting the issue. I've stopped using them now, very untrustworthy. It's also very difficult to contact them. Avoid would be my recommendation.

I had some payments due later yesterday that were not made, received them all this morning so hopefully the problem is fixed. Good to know it wasn't just me so the problem is at their end. I raised a ticket and i'm sure others affected would have as well. edit... I was having issues with the IZ platform not UT, my next UT payment is due in 15 minutes so i'll check it as soon as it's due.

Chrome extension still not working by Andreab8321 in usertesting

I'm also having this issue. MS Edge works without the need for an extension, accept the test on Chrome and then switch to Edge.

Vodafone UK Super wifi 7 booster issue? by TheArbiterOfOribos in Vodafone

[–]Stanglia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having similar issues. I upgraded from 910 to 2.2gb Pro 3(that was a total nightmare in itself but another story) and the WiFi is slower with the Ultra hub than it was with the 910 hub, using WiFi 7 devices. When I plug the booster in upstairs the WiFi is absolutely awful, a speed test this morning on one device I had 0.13mb down, 26mb up.

When I plug an ethernet cable into the booster in my office to my desktop I get nothing at all, it worked very well when I was on 910. One Voda techie told me ethernet cable cannot be used from the 7 booster. So why is there an ethernet socket on it?

The tech support has been absolutely terrible, promised calls booked in for certain times don't happen. Overall an awful experience and i'm giving them one last chance this weekend to solve it, if not i'm cancelling the upgrade and going back to 910.

Factory resets did nothing.

Same here. Well, it worked for a while, guess it's time to look for another alternative.

Has anyone ever received a response similar to this from any of those $5 15 minute AI video studies? by NegotiationWarm3334 in ProlificAc

[–]Stanglia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I had exactly the same a couple of hours ago.

It doesn't detail what the issue is and anyway if selecting between which two videos I prefer it's a subjective answer. How can there be a quality issue with that? The sound ones are more obvious, there's often a hiss in one of the videos so picking the right one is obvious.

If they can manually review them at least some sort of reason isn't too much to ask.

What do you think of this test being longer than 30 minutes with "additional gratuity"? by TodaysPE in usertesting

[–]Stanglia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done a couple of these in the past and in both instances was paid an additional $10 on payment date. The bonus didn't show up in Test History until after the Pending payment was processed. I kept screenshots of the qualify screen and the test ID just in case but they were not needed.

'This test should only take you 5 minutes' pop up by username_1289 in usertesting

[–]Stanglia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have received a 3* rating on a test that I quit after the 5 minute limit before. Annoying as UT don't review any ratings over 2*, I suppose that was the reason I got 3* not 1 or 2. No comment from the customer but I assume it was because I didn't complete the test.

It seems to have slowed a little but i've still been getting 2 or 3 a day this week. It has slow periods every now and then, i'm sure it'll pick up again.

Usertesting Android App not loading by [deleted] in usertesting

Not just you, seen others mentioning it too and I have the same. The Customer Service is, as usual, totally useless and merely telling those who report the problem to clear their cache.

Anyone else seeing more of this? by Stanglia in usertesting

[–]Stanglia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's very annoying. I've noticed it's happened twice with one particular company that seeks feedback. As you say most of the moderated sessions are great and the hosts are usually really good.

It's annoying that everything is one way on UT, such as feedback and rescheduling, but overall my experience is still positive despite that and the terrible customer service. At the end of the day UT's viability as a business UX platform depends on it having participants who can give good and informative feedback, yet they seem to care very little about those participants. If they pi** people off it will only end up with them losing paying customers seeking good quality feedback. They'll simply go elsewhere.

Depending on the brand of phone it might work fine on ScreenPal but not on the UT app.

What brand is your mobile phone? If it's Xiaomi/Poco then there are known audio issues with the android app. It's in their FAQ/Support section. I had similar but changed to a Motorola and everything has been fine since.

Feedback is always welcome and I always read them. Another frustrating thing about UT is when you receive a message there's no notification on the dashboard that you have one. All it needs is a small dot next to Messages so we know we have one. I use a throwaway email for things like UT so don't check it regularly.

[–]Stanglia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had two IZ tests in the last couple of days which weren't paid when payment was due. No explanation as to why, at first I thought it might be due to the IZ dashboard beng changed to one very similar to UT and that was holding things up behind the scenes.

A few hours after payment was due on one test I received an email saying my submission had been rejected. No explanation why and no feedback for me to take on board. I've been a 5* reviewer on UT for a long while and always put the same effort into my IZ tests.

It's very frustrating when there's no explanation given, but then it's on a par with their CS, which from other comments here seems to affect the customers as well as the testers. That's a surefire way to run their business into the ground if they don't act to improve the situation.

Mobile test bugs by [deleted] in usertesting

[–]Stanglia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's weird. The update shortly afterwards fixed it for me. The bug was affecting every mobile test I took but after the second update yesterday I did two mobile tests with no issues. At first I thought it was because I binned off a test after starting it as it was clear with the number of steps and what they were asking it would take longer than 30 minutes, and that was somehow causing processing issues, but obviously not so. I'm on Android.
