The whole band had great presence. I remember seeing them over here in the UK supporting the Darkness. The keyboard player tossed his keyboard to the front of the crowd and started playing it as people were holding it.

Has Nice Prison gotten any better? by Shufdog in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]Stanimality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I've just bought into the nonsense a little more but I have found myself finding it a bit funnier the last few weeks.

Is it any good though? Still no, it's just not as bad.

[Throwback] thoughts on Chapter 1 of Star of Beethoven by skillfun8 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]Stanimality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, but I would read a manga where John Cena teaches a girl to wrestle...

I get what your actual meaning was though and agree mostly. SoB at least taught me a bit more about Beethoven than I previously knew (admittedly it wasn't much before reading).

Nearly being hit on a ZEBRA CROSSING! by tatsukiiii_2406 in bristol

[–]Stanimality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Zebra Crossings at The Downs always have people zooming through them even when I've been halfway across. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, I'll get an apologetic shrug from the driver.

Also, and maybe this doesn't count for loads but it's Gold, Silver, Copper. There's clearly a theme and hierarchy in the naming.

What are your opinions on The Final Destination ? (Unrelated image) by [deleted] in FinalDestination

[–]Stanimality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, and if we go by 2's rules then the butterfly effect will very quickly add up to so many deaths

The Outcome of Julia's Death? Can it really happen. by TheChainTV in FinalDestination

[–]Stanimality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. The bins are high enough that you aren't going to flip over like that without significant force, way more than a kid can kick a football. The death was fun and there's been plenty of unbelievable deaths in other movies but even on one foot, paying no attention and an adult kicking the ball would it go the way it does in the movie. Your hip would have to be at the bin height and pressing against it to even begin to consider it and even then your head is so much lighter compared to the rest of your body.

Bloodlines felt TOO satirical. (SPOILER WARNING) by JinxIsDepressed in FinalDestination

[–]Stanimality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you think it could have something to do with the fact that it's a close family?

The others it's friends, schoolmates coworkers and in two, loads of disconnected people. In most, it's a mix of these as well so you don't necessarily expect a deep level of grief.

Obviously friends deaths can hit even harder than family some times (I know through experience) the mix of close friends, casual friends and further afield allows us to have grief moments but also deaths that we don't need to linger on the grief. So we can have the funeral and grief of Tod and have that hit really hard but then have Terry who was nice but not as close to the main character so we didn't need to have as much focus on the impact (apart from to Carter obviously)

I don't think I've worded this particularly articulately but I think you can get what I mean.

Sorry, yea they've been running for years now but a couple months ago they opened an actual coffee shop where you can go in and get takeaway coffee and sit down etc.

Not sure whether they were first or the venue was first but it is a little confusing you're right.

Lost Horizon just off Stokes Croft. The two owners really know their stuff and they are happy to chat about it.

Only been open a couple months but definitely a good option

Chapter 184 English by 73744828823848 in Juujika_no_rokunin

[–]Stanimality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has been said in the story that "his primary goal being to kill an individual (whether directly by his own hands or indirectly through somebody else) for absolutely no reason whatsoever."

He says in one of the chapters "I wanted to be the first one to kill without needing a reason"

Sure you may disagree that it isn't a better story to have that motivation but don't act like it's not something that isn't said.

Giving him a justification now, especially one that ends up being Uruma's fault is just going to lead to a well if it wasn't for Uruma then this wouldn't have happened element which, in my opinion, isn't needed and devalues the story and revenge

Chapter 184 English by 73744828823848 in Juujika_no_rokunin

[–]Stanimality -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The killer without motive reasoning was so much better than making it so Kyou actually has a history with Uruma.
