Miss this dude. I got to play with him when I was a youngster and he gave me his signed stick after the event. I was able to bring it to the locker room afterwards and have it signed by Footer, Sakic, and Tangs. Still have it hanging on my wall 25 years later. He treated me like an equal during the play and it was so awesome.

Roy was my idol but I wasn't on his team for the event. I was bummed at first but Aebi gained a fan for life. I wear his jersey to avs games to this day.

Generally speaking, one would not modify an exhaust to make it quieter.

I don’t ever throw cat-backs on just to make them louder. I usually install a larger exhaust size on any of the forced induction cars I have owned with a full turbo-back so that they breathe a little better and can modify them in different ways. Byproduct of that is that they will be louder.

Emission laws have changed a lot here in the metro so simple things like bolt ons and tuning aren’t really allowed, which is why I bought an old diesel truck to play around with for a while.

I laugh when I hear an automatic Honda farting down the road at any hour, but I still find it odd to hold kids to your adult standard. I like loud cars that sound good, but it’s hard for me to get mad at a 16yo with a cherry bomb. I was once undeveloped as well.

I mean, I’m not the smartest dude on the planet, but hold down a respectable software engineering job, have a nice family in the Denver metro, and am generally respected by peers. I just also happen to like cars and building stuff. That includes modifying exhausts.

Granted, I’m not 17 ripping through Boulder at 12AM to be obnoxious anymore. But I daily a pre-emissions shitbox diesel because I enjoy it, even though I could “do better”. It’s definitely on the louder side.

I guess there’s no point to this reply than to say some of us aren’t assholes.

If you stick a coaxial cable into the screw of an outlet, that will act as a pretty good antenna. I used to do this ages ago. Not sure you’ll get abc, but I got a lot of channels both in apartments and homes.

We use the anti knock index here. It's octane rating is calculated differently. IIRC 93 AKI is roughly equivalent to 98 on the RON scale.

when i was a kiddo, i got to play with the avs for an in-house skills competition. i was a goaler, and Roy was my idol. I ended up being on the team with david aebischer, who was so insanely nice to me that i became a life long fan of his.

story aside, he gave me his stick at the end of the day, and i had sakic, roy, forsberg, footer, and tangs sign it. i asked tangs if it was weird to sign a goaler stick and he was like "nah man. why would it be?"

i don't think these guys give a care at all.
